Newcomer / Intro Anonymous Access Protocol: Contacts Locked so can't pay fine

How do you pay fine if the Anonymous Access Protocol locks Contacts so you can't pay the fine?

(Do they even play their game?)

You should be able to pay your fine via contacts with anonymous access protocol, you just cannot use most other services of the station. I definitely have done that a couple of times and as well once after the upgrade. So it should work - I am on PC.

Unless you do not simply have a fine you need to pay, but you're actually notorious (and that fine, as a consequence, is probably a bounty).

In that case
a) paying off the bounty at a regular station contact (i.e. with a faction that has issued the bounty) is not possible - all you can do is "hand yourself in" and win a free trip to a prison ship of their choice
b) paying off anything at the interstellar factors is impossible until that notoriety has cooled off (IIRC 2 hrs in game per point)

So, have you killed a non-wanted ship in the last few hours you were playing (or shot a non-wanted ship which was killed subsequently through other events)?

It was because the Station was on restricted services. However, if they can issue the fine, they should be able to receive the fine payment as well.

Happened to me just now.

The rebuilding station won't buy 700t of stuff they need from me because of a 200cr fine the station won't take.

Good to know that in the future bureaucracies have mastered the art of cutting off their noses to spite their faces.

If its a station under repair, you will have to find another station controlled by the same faction, go there and pay the fine
In your nav panel there should be a set of red scales next to each station you have the fine at and can pay

Just as you should always know where your towel is, you should also know where your 2 closest interstellar factors are, especially if you are going to be naughty.
Inara and eddb will both tell you very easily.

I know how to clear it!

It was a dumb 200cr fine for loitering over a landing pad. Utterly trivial. The first undamaged station of the same faction took the measly fine. Guess who didn't bother to go back to the damaged station and just took the profit?

Not wishing to enter the conversation, just wanting to know what game your Avatar is connected to. Remember having to put my mouse into the Upper Memory Band in order to play it with mouse support - great game though (your Avatar was the player I usually chose).

It's Rjak from Master of Magic, which I happened to have handy from when I was playing Abyssians in Dominions 5. Totally inappropriate for ED, but whatever.

Master of Magic - great game; fond memories very much like my early memories of Elite and hunting the Wolf MkII (just connecting the post back to Elite).

Thank you. O7
