Another building problem

Does anybody know why I can't put a path here? It's a rock that contains a railroad inside, but the surface where I want to buiild the path is completely flat and aligned...

Not sure but try turning angles off and try with the curve piece.
Or choose Grid and see if you can do that way.
Not guaranteeing bot worth a try.

What NZFanatic said, saw a setup almost identical to this a while ago and the terrain was indeed to thin to place a path on it...

Yet another example for the terribly limiting restrictions of the path tool and why I wish they'd just give us an option to turn path collision off altogether. If I wanna place my path right next to water or a barrier or even underwater and what not then let me it'll be my problem if it doesn't work out since I chose to turn collision off, no harm done to any other players...it would also mean that we could finally change the paths in an existing zoo without being forced to delete half of it to change that one tiny path that leads through the middle of it.

Probably the barrier below the terrain is blocking the editing of the terrain, and thus not being able to place the path?
(depends on the "game" settings).

The terrain to thin is not an issue, if you have flatten terrain enabled (do you?), the game should be able to adjust it to whatever you need with the right thickness. But it won't adjust that piece of terrain if there is a barrier right next/below it or other objects that obstruct terrain editing. (still depends on the "game" settings).

I'm going with Luuknoord's comment on this one. I saw zoos with thin terrain paths, but have to admit not sure in which order they built their zoo. Maybe they landscaped after placing the paths.

Barrier most times is the biggest issue with path placing.
So box all animals, delete the barrier (near that path), try placing the path again (and reconnecting barrier/unbox all animals)
At least worth a try..

Not experienced enough with the tracks of a ride, but maybe a path so close to a track, could be an issue (if the other option doesn't work)

O, didn't spot the ride going beneath. Yeah, I think the game can't edit the terrain, because of the tracks underneath.
