Anti-Aliasing does not function

...movement is caused by being inside the rotating structure, so completely stopping the movement may not be possible as numerically there is movement even if it is not visually possible to tell.
Actually you're missing something.
When docked, or rather docked in the fitting area, go into Debug cam mode. Look up and you'll see a ventilation outlet. Go near it so you clearly see the vent opening. Stare are the outlet, and notice how the outlet is completely still while the surrounding wall is trembling.

After SMAA or any other good AA is gone... is it possible to force AA via nV Inspector???

Post process injectors will do the trick. Try ReShade or SweetFX. Using slightly negative values in Luma Sharpen will blur the edges too.

I was looking for an answer for what I noticed about AA on this game, but everytime I found someone complaining about it, a moderator says "there is no problem". That's because this game simply don't works with any kind of AA and you are ok with that?

Those are my proofs with ultra quality, switching between AA modes.

If you do an effort you will see some kind of difference but.. is that an acceptable anti aliasing?
I see sawtooths everywhere I look. How can you say there is no problem there? Are you blind?

This is just like with my PC after 1.4 update and changing my graphic card from AMD 7950 to 290X.

During beta testing, I was playing both official 1.3 version and 1.4 beta. In 1.3 AA was working nicely, but in 1.4 beta and also now with final 1.4 update, AA does not work at all. It is no difference if I use ingame settings or in AMD catalyst options... I reported it also as a bug during beta, without response.

this

even with highest AA the sawtooths are inacceptable
fortunately we play this game mostly in space, and not in stations where its mostly visible ;-)

Bad AA is bad, FD.

According to some CMDRs, there is some problem with AA in ED. But i do not understand, why someone has quite good AA, someone even better and for someone it does not work at all. And with later updates it became even more chaotic with AA. For Trueno33 in 1.4 AA si better, for me it does not work at all and before worked without issue.

I've noticed a reduction in the AA quality with 1.4. It was bad enough in 1.3 that I actually turned supersampling on, but now not even that is doing much to help (and I can't notch SS up to 2.0x because I can't run it properly at that value). I'll try something other than FXAA, but past experience has told me that it won't do much, if anything.

Hopefully it'll get looked into at some point...

SMAA stopped working for me as well (playing on a AMD gc), I had to resort to MLAA but it doesn't look great...

Don't forget everyone.

You can force Antisoptric Filtering in driver to 16x because game has none.

Try use supersampling, it's the best for AA too. It's only SMAA broken right?

SMAA was working fine for me on my GTX 980 @ 4k and with G-Sync (Yes, I do notice aliasing even with 4k)

However, after Nvidia's patch 358.50 I've noticed G-Sync isn't working properly, shadows are jumping around the place inside cockpits and movable flaps on ships. Also, all forms of AA are not working (FXAA, SMAA etc). I found similar issues is in both Elder Scrolls Online and Elite Dangerous. No issues in StarCitizen, Aliens Isolation.

My advise, if you're on driver version 355.98, stick with it for now. I reverted to 355.98 and everything's working perfectly again.

Nope... the same with 355.98... It´s definitely Game Engine related like all the other bugs too!
The stutter thing was also Game related and is now with 1.4 gone but there is another bug came for it. Slow fps after short time in super cruise... FD should know their Engine but they don´t.........................................

I would say most of us with high end rigs are already using 16x AF and supersampling. It doesn't change the fact that SMAA is needed to make things look better
