anti-corrosive armor

Hi everyone I had a crazy idea about anti-corrosive armor for the thargoid war. We already have he anti-corrosive cargo rack I was brain storming about it. What do you think about it.

Pretty sure they are going to introduce corrosive heat sinks that mitigate corrosive damage as a sort of ablative armor.

You can equip Guardian armor reinforcements or meta-alloy armor reinforcements that have modest corrosive resistance currently.

Meta alloy Hull reinforcements are currently pretty bad, basically they only beat out completely unengineered reinforcements, but Guardian hull reinforcements are reasonably decent.

They give nearly the same amount of effective armor, but they also boost your module integrity and effective repairs.

The only real problem with them is that they give the same amount of resistance at all classes, which makes the lower classes disproportionately more powerful. It would be nice if they would give each higher class somewhere between .25 and 0.5 extra resistance, to keep them more equivalent.

The mechanics of how that particular one could work intrigues me. ofc not the first time something appeared as an option briefly in-game and then disappeared (looking at you, Xeno Material Trader...), but thinking about how heatsinks work (rapidly drop down your heat levels) versus how anti-corrosion mechanisms work (corrosion is applied, then stops suddenly based on heat or the anti-corrosion limpet), so how specifically a corrosion sink works (other than drop one and you simply lose your corrosive status) is interesting to think about.

Ofc there's different intensities of corrosion too... but again, the treatment is always sudden and instantaneous... soo...

I wouldn't really want an auto field neutralizer. That would make the shutdown field mechanics useless, and if mats were needed lead to complaints about ax combat being locked behind a grind wall..

It could be some kind of special heat sink that first spikes your temp to 200% in 2-3 seconds to kill the corrosive status and then dumps all the heat quickly as a normal one. Not much use in the Maelstrom, though

well at one point we will have to goto the maelstrom to combat the invasion. That's why I was thinking we are going to need some sort of anti-corrosive armor for the fight.
