Any fix for AA?

Try supersampling.
x1.25+FXAA do it's job (until you get FPS drop ofc...)

There is not much more to deal with it...
Tbh much better to use DSR 1.25 or 1.5, with 10%-30% smoothness. It both works much faster than default SS, and after it you wouldn't need any AA at all.

Practically though, Frontier really need to implement DLSS 2.1 into Elite. Works better than TAA, and actually increase performance, rather than dropping it.

DLSS is great but it's an nVidia only option on new cards. Just TAA would be a massive improvement for anyone on Odyssey's minimum specs upwards.

They literally have TAA in Jurassic Park so no idea when they can't include it in ED. Maybe the amount of transparencies?

I've asked a few times in Q and As but never had a "this is why we can't do it" response.

It would make the game looks sooo much better.

Well, AMD keep promising it will bring it's "FPS boost" somewhere this year.
But for now, we have what we have, and that's it only nvidia's DLSS.

Well you do need a TAA implementation to do DLSS, so everyone would win, regardless card.

I have to agree, just played a little of odyssey and as much as I tried to get immersed in the tutorial and later walking in a station all I could think about is these jaggies flickering all over the place.
I'm running at 4k smaa all maxed out and it really is as stated "awful".
Popping super sampling to 1.25 and fxaa helps a little but supersampling 4k even on a 3090 dips the frames a bit, still totally playable. I did try 2x but that almost killed my pc, but the aa looked better, albeit at 20fps.

They need to fix this as its a real shame considering the potential.

It's the low PBR roughness that makes everything look anti-aliased. Every surface in this game is covered with super high gloss polyurethane. It looks ridiculous and makes any textures with near white areas reflect light like high polished silver.

How can an artist look at this and think, "yeah, that looks sweet."?

If they managed to fix this, I can honestly say I would almost never play anything else...
As it stands though even after forking out 30 squids, I would still get tired of the immersion breaking and go back to something else that doesn't break it.
Every other top drawer visual feast games do AA bang on, cause they know if they don't, it's like polishing your ferrari with 100 grit sand paper

Personally I always found that bypassing any kind of AA and using sharpening was a better option. AA in general is ugly looking. I prefer jaggies over blur. Even the "best" kinds of AA look blurry IMO.

It's just not acceptable for a AAA game in 2021, especially after they just "updated" the graphics and had a perfectly good chance to address it.
Who said it's AAA game? :) ... Did you see an AAA game that would limit 32 buttons per controller 'because we use API from 1993 and we don't care about it - we all use gamepads'? :)

Jaggies, performance, and button limit are 3 most annoying things in ED currently.
