Not really.
There being something that MIGHT be Interpreted as actual Game Development taking Place. Is no Confirmation that something is happening in that Direction.
Its just that out of the stuff that was bought up. This one I agree could at least give a Hint on actual Development.

Unless we also get some Actual Information on Future Content. I will remain with the Opinion that the Game is basicly just going into Maintenance Mode once they cleaned up the Odyssey Mess.

We don't know what is coming.

What the roadmap was intended to do was calm the fears of the community that NOTHING was happening, and nothing was coming, that the game was dead.

Outside the Reports which FD is Forced to Publish. You will never get your Ears on what Braben tells the Investors.
You only get some Public Statement which likely is very far away from Reality as well as from anything Braben told the Investors.

Less than 4 years later i managed to rack up thousands and thousands of hours spread over 3 accounts.
And as far as the future looks, there will still be a game to play even beyond 2023

So, as usual, doomsayers will say doom, while people that still like the game will say so and keep playing the game.

I do wonder however, if the said doomsayers wouldn't make a better use of their spare time playing a game they enjoy instead of wasting time on the forums and keep prophesying Elite's doom.

It may well be that those "doomsayers"still play and love Elite but are disappointed in the what has, is or will happen .

But there isnt.
The Glass is Empty. And some People claim that maybe eventually something might be Poured into it.

There is no Doomsayers.

There is People which are Delusional.
There is People which have Hope.
There is People which have Worries.
And there is People whose Hopes have been Dissappointed.

The First Group is the one Refusing to See Problems.
The Second Group is the one Hoping that the Problems will be Overcome.
The Third is the Group that Asks Awkward Questions and Complains.
And the Last is the Group that has given up on the Game and is Angry enough that they will Spend Time in the Forum to Complain about it.

Notice something ?
Not a Single of these Groups actually Hates the Game or doesnt care about it.
The Opposite of Love isnt Hate, its Apathy.

You say you Remember hearing such stuff since 2018. And so have I.
I also Remember when Mac Players worried about Frontier Abandoning them. And People like You here writing them off as Doomsayers and Haters.
The Same was told when Console Players Complained about being an Aftertought of Frontier and being Worried that they might not get Future Expansions.

Now here we are. Mac and Console have both been Abandoned.
And Yet People like you Pretend like Frontier could not Possibly Abandon the Game and that People just should Shut up

Nah… that happened way back in 2014, when Frontier decided to “fix” complaints about the speed of progression and how unprofitable large ships were by perpetually inflating rewards, rather than addressing the underlying clause: exponential price increases for linear gains in capabilities. This. If I go off playing ED I'll play something else instead and I'll be over on the forum of my new hobby. I've never understood people who stop playing a game but still hang around its forum as hungry ghosts.
