Any plans to add content?

all the stuff you named is very limited or has no significant impact on the game

comparing E D diplomacy to M B is laughable

ah well, there is a reason why this game has a "mixed" feedback on steam, its nice that you guys are happy with the game, a lot of people obviously aren't

It is niche game. Of course many people aren't. Because they expect something else. And that's fine. Doesn't make anyone right or wrong.

Also it has impact. BGS has big impact. Just not the way lot of players expect their agency to be.

i was hoping something would come with the thargoids but the waiting has been excessive and the results absent

anyway, time to change my review to negative, this simply isn't a game i could tell people to get into
ED is not a game that everyone will like and there is nothing wrong with that.

However, to claim that ED has no content or little depth just shows a lack of knowledge of the game and/or a lack of initiative where your in-game activities are concerned.

I am quite old could you please explain what you mean by “content”

I would like to hear that too. I never hear like really nailed down definition of that :)

People could say like "I just don't like playing game" but then it would mean it is just their opinion.

Understanding your own video gaming preferences is an important first step towards buying and playing games you'll like.

Diplomacy in M&B is absolutely terrible probably one of the worst and crudest implementations I've ever seen, aside from that it's a good game. Luckily diplomacy isn't important in it at all so you can ignore it completely or mod it out.

In ED diplomacy actually takes the form of actual diplomacy between player groups, with all that entails.

Yes, I am comparing these, because if procedurally generated content means the content can't have depth, its a worthless system and should be left. Of course thats nonsense and simply not true, just saying.

Maybe they would have been able to get more done, if they hadn't revamped certain systems over and over?

They keep revamping the engineers system for example, but don't seem to see that you cannot make a grind fun if the underlying game is not attractive.

Give people actual goals to kill 50 ships, making them wanting to do it, and the engineer grind requiring 100 ship kills / roll will no longer be a problem.

Time is a very weak excuse given the state and age of the game.

Procedurally generated content can be very engaging when it causes players to aggregate and interact, eg. a real time distress call to defend a station against a thargoid attack (procedural, win/lose conditions) would probably be well received, particularly if we could win or lose the station depending on how many players respond and how well they do.

Contrast this with the actual situation of Thursday => server tick => station state: burning and You Missed The Battle.

It's pretty much the worst possible implementation. It is the polar opposite if the epic laser battle promo vids. It's simply terrible and I am incredulous that even a fanboi would want to defend this kind of previous-century design.

It is not worst possible implementation. And it is within realms of technical possibilities. Any fantasies of defending or attacking stations are void due of people not wanting to be forced to take part in such interactions, instancing, timing, etc.

When tech will evolve there will be more dynamic things to offer.

Also call me when some game actually do that on this scale. Will want check it out.

Not eveyone will like it or 'niche' seem to be frequently raised justifications for boring.

And it absolutely is shallow, that's why there are legions of people and Youtubers complaining about it. Dismount from your high horse, sir.

There are legions of people complaining because they lack the sense to play games they'd enjoy.

Or maybe they'd like FD to deliver the game they advertised and have been waiting for, instead of Farmville in Space.

The unknown probe mystery is an example of something they did right, too bad they abandoned that direction.

It is just opinion and people definition what means depth in games differs.

The game has content by the bucket load, it just means sweet annie as none of it matters due to any real interaction between you the player, and it the content in anyway that makes you feel like part of somthing bigger.

Lot of the player groups do give it a damn good go tho, but im not much into rp past the bedroom door

Enjoyment of the game is often the result of how much imagination you bring with you into playing it.

Dismount from yours, just because there are legions of flat-worlders does not mean the world is actually flat.

I'm wearing lynx deodorant, I'm not mad that hordes of girls are not throwing themselves at me (right now they're only human after all). This is because I understand what advertising is and only expected the deodorant to stop my armpits from being a bit whiffy.

True, I think that's why Im off playing other things, I ran out of things to pretend I was doing while doing the things that are on offer. I love the BGS, but even putting the work in and flipping the station for the pirate faction in a system which was fun, the result was, ohh they still see me as a nobody. I want interaction with the game past clicking the buttons to make the credits go up.

I dont think its ever going to happen tho. So until my brain is in the "I want to be a spaceman" mode again it's Fallout 4 and Borderlands 2 :p
