Any solution to increase FPSs?

Before Odyssey I had an excellent performance with High-Ultra Graphics settings, but now... omg, I can't even handle 40FPS on SpaceDocks and 20FPS on Planet Settlements.

Any tip or help that I can use?

Thank you commanders!

In this exhausting analysis we look at each and every graphical setting Elite Dangerous has to offer. We'll look at how I performed these tests, the test system and the effects both visually and in terms of framerate on each and every setting available." - Exigeous 30 Aug 2020 (25 min 36 sec)

I don't really think that a video explaining the settings from Mid 2020 helps with an issue which came up on mid - high end PCs with the release of Odyssey last week.

One thing I read (don't have Odyssey) was to delete all your ED graphics configuration files, then let the game rebuild them from scratch.

No, I can't remember any more which files those were supposed to be, or where - so if afterwards you can't reboot Windows, don't blame me.

The settings do the same things. Any setting that caused an increased workload in Horizons will do the same for Odyssey.

The only difference is that the changes won't be as effective in Odyssey. I'm struggling to get 60 fps in stations. If I'm at a settlement I run from 70-90 fps with quite a bit of dropped frames and lag. I'm upgrading my Cpu from a I7 6700K 4c/8t to a 10c/20t I9 10900 this week so we will see if that helps smooth things out a bit.

I'd upgrade the GPU from my GTX1080 but I'm not paying stupid prices.

I've got mine at .5...

You shouldn't need to go anywhere near that low. At 1080p I'm still running at mostly high (dropping shadows to low, AA as low as it can go or off, SS at 0.85) and i can just about squeak 30-40fps around 95% of the time on foot. Certainly not great but still nowhere near the point where I'll consider dropping it further.

At 1080p there shouldn't be any need for you to drop SS that low.

It might be .65 but it is definitely lower than . 75. My settings are a mix of low and medium. AA and shadows are low and I can barely average 55 fps.

The frame rate is all over the place with some stuttering. The game is not playable in stations.

Apparently the problem is that the game is rendering stuff that is behind walls and you cannot see. Thereby making your graphics card sweat in order to render objects you are not interested in.

In vr I've set the G2 hmd to 1.0 ss (anything lower it just looks pants.)
Overriding steam I set hmd to 90% which is about 2.5k per lense approx....mebbe 3k...!
AA on smaa and medium most others cept shadows low. Anisotropic on x4.
Runs a bit slower than I'd want on my 2060 but looks OK it's the closest I can get to high res with speed atm. Hope this improves

No, I use a 3440x1440 34in monitor. As long as the ratio is the same it's not really a problem. Basically I'm making it a 2560x1080.

Lowering the AA, textures and a few other settings will affect visual quality to a greater extent. Which I have to do just to get "playable" frame rates in stations.

I'm horribly CPU bound at the moment, if open up monitoring software to help tune the settings the lag and stuttering go of the charts. I tried that with Battlefield 1 last night and had similar results.

New motherboard and CPU are inbound... Wish the same could be said about a GPU.

If that's the CPU you're using in your signature, I'm doubtful of this. I've tried to induce actual CPU limitations in Odyssey, and it takes me simulating a much slower CPU than a 6700K with much faster GPUs than a GTX 1080.

Neither low GPU utilization, nor an increase in stutter from the polling of monitoring apps, automatically implies a CPU bottleneck.

What frame rate are you targeting?

I haven't tried to drop to a single monitor and remove all excess programs yet. I was going to have another look last night but, ORANGE SIDEWINDER...

Something is causing an issue, the GPU runs between 60 and 80% depending on the settings and the CPU runs in the 90s. Adding additional tasks tends to lower the GPU usage and add more stuttering/lag. It oddly doesn't spike the CPU to a solid 100% but I'm just using Windows measuring tools for the CPU.

Either way, I got a good deal on the I9-10900 and motherboard and I got 5 great years out of my I7 6700k. The deal is done and I will be upgraded soon.

I'm not expecting huge gains but I think the system will run smoother overall and when I get a new GPU I will get all of the performance that it can offer.

I would like to know more about this because I am suspecting a CPU bottleneck in my case, but I am not an expert. I have an old i7 4820k (from 2013) + 24GB DDR3 RAM + RTX 2070 Super. So far I have had 0 problems running any game at 4k60FPS, including Battlefield V or the last Call of Duty. I played Horizon smoothly and without any performance issue, but with Odyssey, I am experiencing the same awful performance as many others here. I can't even think of getting close to a planetary basement.

No matter the settings, I don't get even 30 stable FPS on foot whether I play full low or full ultra. According to MSI Afterburner, GPU load is 50% ish, CPU load the same, so perhaps no bottleneck? Do you suspect that I might be having a CPU issue? It's disheartening because the expansion looks promising but right now is just money wasted.
