Anybody else getting Memory Management errors in last few days?

I've not been doing much on my pc other than pointing enhanced auto cannons in the direction of Thargoid scouts, and this maybe nothing to do with Elite Dangerous but I've had 4 or 5 Blue Screens of Death (I believe that's what they are called?) where Windows10 collects data for a couple of minutes and then at 100% lets you restart.

Assuming this isn't a cunning Thargoid plot (and I can't see them bothering with the likes of me) I wondered if there might be a memory leak or similar in the new update. The message says something about memory management. :-/

Probably just a local error but I thought I'd ask...... cheers.

If the system is older and the power supply not very good, it may be the PS getting old and need to become replaced.
With a meter one can measure it if the power supply still supplies enough volts on the 3V, 5V and 12V lines...

If the system is dirty from dust inside (all the cooling fans and ventilation holes), may be it overheat sometimes.
Then just cleaning is needed.

Nope, not seen that occuring... BSoD's are pretty rare for a process to cause by a programming error. The OS goes to pretty great lengths to make sure it's the application and not the entire OS that crashes. It is entirely possible however for a correctly operating process to demand enough resources to expose a hardware problem that the OS can not live through. That sounds more like what you have going on there.

ed has always had memory issues and leaks, its the only reason I ever have to reboot daily for a computer that can run for months without ever needing a reboot

but as Hooplah said, BSOD is hardware issues.
normally it would be detected at boot by windows if you have incompatible hardware
but it can stem from old worn components finally hitting the breaking point, as another mentioned
power supply
ram
and cards in slots

tbh, I take mine apart every year and clean all connections, ram and cards

more details are required
you should get a line at the end of the bsod that tells you the actual component or its driver, a screenshot/photo could help.
pc specs would help
using a ssd or a moving hard drive? how old is it, specs?

but, I will say when my pc's do that, I fix them asap, before they die.
I am a pc tech and its better to troubleshoot NOW and find the problem, or cry later when your HD dies and you have no backup.

bsod is to a pc what a headache is to a human, a really bad sign that something is very wrong.
putting it off, means its going to keep happening....define genius

I should add that windows versions beyond 7 are kinda dumb

your problem could be as simple as a loose cable or a cable that is simply too old and the signal is not strong enough any more, this is a very common USB thing, video thing, audio thing.

if you are using a hotas, then it can easily be the USB causing the issue., one that can be cured by using a powered usb hub.
if you are using an x52 or similar, it is almost a guarantee the issue is usb related.

For what t's worth to anybody encountering similar problems, I installed the latest stable Nvidia driver which made things much better, but not perfect, then there were a couple of Windows updates in quick succession and everything appears to be running well. (Fingers crossed). :)

Never had a BSOD from ED, does sound like a hardware issue, game crashes sure, game lock up on the odd occasion but all exitable using the task manager, but no BSOD's.

Open a command prompt (Start - type cmd - select "run as administrator")

type sfc /scannow

If you get errors that can't be fixed, run DISM
