Anybody using an oculus rift on an AMD R9 380

HI,

I have a triple screen setup using my pc specs below:-

Intel i7 4790K Haswell Quad-Core 4.0GHz, Intel Processor,
4GB Radeon R9 380 Graphics Card,
240GB SSD Drive,
1TB HDD,
16gig ram

I really fancy trying a Rift but do any of you fine fellows have one working on an AMD R9 380 4gb and could share their real word (or VR world) experiences.

If so can you tell me if it runs ok or what problems you have encountered.

If the graphics card is not really up to taking an Rift I may have to wait a bit until things are a bit more affordable.

The card supposedly supports VR so fingers crossed.

Cheers,

GD

Was waiting til a 380 owner turned up but seeing as none have then...whilst a 380 will probably cope I'm pretty sure you'll be putting everything on Low in order to get close to 90FPS. I have a 390X and my settings are below. I get 90 FPS in space but it drops to around 70 in stations. Note that I have HMD IQ set to 1.5 which is starting to push the card. If I set this to 1.0 or 1.25 I can start turning up the other settings to Medium or High but for me it's HMD IQ that makes the difference - everything looks so much sharper and text is easier to read. The other settings have less of an impact (and oddly it is harder to tell the difference in VR compared to 2D, maybe it's just me). I'm a bit of a resolution junkie so I'm putting money aside for Vega (provided that reviews and prices are good).

eek, on my r390 with vive i have to use interleaved reprojection and my framerate is constants 45fps reprojected and it still frame drops with VR LOW and 1.25 hmd quality although its mostly very playable.

no async reprojection on vive for old cards :(

saw a youtube vid this morning saying there is a big hideous bottleneck between cores within ryzen.. thinking next upgrade should be intel/nvidia.

My AMD fury non x, seems to work pretty well on the OR. It's 90fps in space, but get some drops on planets, but I have planet stuff up high as I prefer the better look then the frame rates. I don't seem to suffer from nausea.

My setttings are a mixture of medium and high.
