Anyone else missing "First discovered" and "First mapped" tags?

Maybe I was a bit edge-lordy there. Just was not something I imagined taking much notice of beyond “nope wasn’t me”. Much like flying to a station and seeing CMDR 61GBALZ flying out.

Yeah, but game gives you an option to select Solo and never see that CMDR, while his tag will hunt you even then :)

After the 2nd September patch this morning the "First discovered" and "First mapped" tags seem to be gone.
My home system is Guuguyni which I am 1000% sure it was discovered and mapped by various CMDRs before the patch.
Now there are absolutely no tags (see screenshot).
However, I only saw a few posts in scattered threads and one issue in the issue tracker so this might be an isolated problem.

Is anyone else experiencing this?

EDIT: It seems to affect only some planets and some of their tags.

yes i lost first discoveries in many patches, i stopped checking after 3.0 because support basically send you down a spiral email chain to no avail and dont give a rats arx, and then you give up, besides theres just not enough bookmarks in the game for me to even know where the hell all my discoveries are located anymore!

i have lost a few ones i cared about though, since now re-tagged by some thieving gypsy, but meh... i know i found it first regardless of what it says on the screen - it does free up bookmarks tho!

So, how do you know guys if it is just a visual bug if you cannot see the discoverer and/or mapper info?
Has It been checked that real discoveries are taken into account as they should?
I ask because I'm in deep space and I cannot visit any universal cartographics contact... Thanks

We don't know. That is the horrible thing. It might actually be permanently lost but I find it hard to believe Fdev would let that happen because it would scare off explorers en masse.

  • Can confirm that several systems/planets that I know for an absolute fact that I was the first to map several months ago have had those tags disappear.
  • Also sold some mapping exploration data for 3 systems outside of the bubble yesterday and did NOT get new first mapped tags for them. (NOTE: These 3 systems already had first discovered tags from other players but the planets I mapped had no first mapped tags so it might be possible that they were actually mapped already but the tags weren't displaying; or it might be a bug with selling the data.)

Looks like a very important bug to me.

I'm on my way to Colonia, how do I know if my exploration time is being wasted?

And I don't talk about a couple of hours, it is a matter of weeks of gameplay invested, so I better make sure about this issue before keep on moving.
It seems like nobody cares about discoveries, uh

I recently submitted an issue re: not getting "First discovered by" and "First mapped by' bonuses and/or Galaxy Map tags. Truthfully I'm not terribly chuffed about this but, it is a bug, OR, the bug is that I could not see the tags possibly already in place. But on a random-path route to 5KLY and back, I logged hundreds of firsts, and maybe half were recognized when the data was turned in. The OP's report and this are perhaps related.

I see a bunch of mapped tags i had lost that have now come back, so something was fixed. Haven't really checked what happened in between, and if some are replaced case someone mapped them before the fix. Maybe i check screen shots if i have time.

My experience is that objects with hidden tags could not be discovered or mapped as "firsts," so from that standpoint previous claims should be safe.
