Anyone else noticed a weird collector limpet path

They always approach the cargo scoop from the aft of the ship, so that is normal.

As for their other well known oddities such as crashing head on into a piece of debris and blowing up, instead of avoiding the obstacle? ... [rolleyes]

Yeah... Kind of dumb considering 3304 and all that. ;)

No they don't.
At my Anaconda they working as intended, besides using the second, non animated cargo door in the back area sometimes.
Here is random limpet video from YT:

Just guessing here, but I'd assume the chosen trajectory would depend on the limpet's vector before acquisition as well as the hitbox of the objects around it which it is programmed to avoid (to the best of its abilities).

Next time you see this, try repositioning your ship to mine from a completely different angle and see how the limpets behave.

there is also a bug report from cobra pilots, that their limpets go through the ship roof on their way back.

but even if its a bug, it looks better and faster then the 300m vertical aproach they do on my type10s, or 200m for the corvettes and type9s cargo hatch

Limpets used to be more efficient that they are now. The flight path has changed so that they can take significantly longer to pick up loot or fragments.

I've noticed in some ships they're now approaching from behind rather than from the bottom. Although on my Anaconda they're approaching from the bottom as usual.

Trying to grab loot using collectors at one of the current CG's was a bit weird in my Cobra 3. Sometimes it seemed way faster though.
