Anyone else started having X-55 Rhino HOTAS throttle issues?

A couple of weekends ago I fired up Elite after a few months away and got re-acquainted with the game. All good!
Then yesterday I came back in and, after waiting for another client upgrade, my X-55 throttle is now just generating random input to the game.
I normally run it in forward-only regular, but have tried re-mapping all the control bindings - all combos of forward-only vs full range and regular vs inverted all making no difference.
Obviously I have rebooted and checked the stick itself, but hardware and drivers look fine - I see smooth, responsive, linear progression in the Saitek settings app and both stick and throttle work perfectly in Star Wars Squadrons.

To rule out if this is this something to do with the latest patch or if it is something locally on my machine, could any other X-55 owners out there let me know if your throttles are working ok at the moment?

Last year when I returned from a break away from ED, I also experienced X55 throttle issues. Although not quite as you describe, my throttle was incontrollable and went from zero to max with only a tiny amount of input.

The following thread I confirmed how I fixed it with DiView and a reinstall afterwards of the X55 software. Maybe that will help you?

I then had another break from ED and returned a couple of weeks ago and the throttle is still working fine, despite not having been used at all since then.

Thanks Effie. Your post prompted me to track down some newer versions of the X55 driver than those that I had installed from ftp://ftp.saitek.com/pub/software/full/x55_rhino/ . After updating, and when I remapped the bindings again, everything is now back to normal and I'm flying again! Nearly as important - that older post you linked to also mentioned Virpil who I've never heard of, but now when my X55 finally gives up the ghost I think I know where to go to get a replacement. What amazing looking gear!

Hmmmm. Virpil!? Not sure how I’ve managed to supress the urge to order new gear from them, but like you, I keep saying to myself, “when the X55 dies“ and the damn thing refuses to give up the ghost!
