Anyone else think this is going to be a monumental let down?

Only 30 dinosaurs (40 claimed by the German mag is apparently wrong) including the deluxe dinosaurs which are confirmed as been in the late game of standard editions, deluxe gets them from start.

Half the island map restricted

No cosmetics for the park

Only one ride

Limited terrain tools

Few buildings

Bad hunting behaviour

Guests look awful

Jeep can't be attacked

Limited management (hiring staff, advertising, changing ticket prices etc)

Some Dinosaurs too big

Only one character from the movies

Everybody's park is going to look identical because lack of customisation.

I get why buildings can't be edited because of licensing, but at least give us statues, fountains, bridges, flowers, vending machines, display signs etc to spice things up.

This game is shaping up to be a huge disappointment. More negatives than positives.

Frontier need to issue a statement to clarify the issues because watching the vids, the game looks poor. Like it needs another 6 months of development.

Wow...that's the point of view...

I hope not. The general idea is that what we saw was an early build of the game and I hope this is true.

I hope the game is much more. A lot of people are complaining about what they saw. I just hope people are doing it constructively and respectfully and aiming it at frontier. Cause complaining on Steam and other places won't solve anything. Maybe some Youtubers can take complaints from their veiwers to Frontier, I know BestInSlot said he has been invited down to the studio to give his opinion on the game.

I don't buy it. Why would they show off an early build vto millions of customers? You'd use the most recent and best.

I personally am going to play the wait and see card, I have an open mind on it.

I will not be pre-ordering though as there seems little point. I may end up getting the physical version on PS4 anyway. My issues are there is very little detail on PS4 Pro enhancements apart from HDR support, and the deluxe version is more expensive than Sony's triple A, God of War which comes out next month and is looking by early signs fantastic on PS4 Pro.

I will wait for reviews of JWE and maybe Digital Foundry analysis before making a final decision.

They don't usually use the latest build because of unreleased infomation along with the latest builds being potentially buggy. Keep in mind all we have seen is the beginner island.

I think we will see in the end.
Hope it's as good as planet coaster.

Interesting. Do you have a source?

A developer on a vid said 30. BestinSlots video showed 30 dinosaur spaces on the screen. Apparently it's recently been confirmed that the 5 deluxe are in the standard game late on.

So just 30 dinosaurs plus IRex which is on its own screen.

30 is shockingly poor.

Okay, not gonna lie, this one cracked me up pretty hard...

I'm going by the Ceratosaurus. In real life it's just over human sized. Not the giant we saw.

Yeah it's a little thing. But how hard can it be to get them the correct size?

Another fault. Not been able to share your park online.

Where did you hear about the deluxe edition dinosaurs being in the standard version of the game “late on”? Because I’m pretty sure they wouldn’t have people pay five bucks to have the ablity to find them through dig-sites in-game, only for them to b found in the standard version as well.

The only thing we can do is wait and see.

I think its important to know frontiers history with their 2 (soon to be 3 modern titles).

- The game is often released in a not finished state, but patched up to expectations post launch by free (or sometimes paid with elite) patches.
- Both games are microtransaction heavy. Not offensively in manners, but heavy in the amount of substance they add to the game.

I wouldn't be surprised to see JWE get released a little barebones, get one or two major patches, and see tonnes of customization start flooding in. Note how there's only one tree brush? I doubt frontier forgot paleo trees... There's already a precedent for vehicle skins. If jwe is more like planet coaster, my bet is the larger dlc's will be for avian and aquatic dinosaurs.

If that's the case delay it. Releasing unfinished games is bull. I'd rather it be delayed for 6 months and then release the actual game with full content.

Not sell people an Alpha for £60.

why would Frontier give out all the details of everything that's going to be in game before release? How do you create discussions like the ones on this forum, how do you create talk and speculation and therefore hype if you give absolutely everything away?

What we've seen so far is an early build of a tutorial island - an island that's designed to teach you the fundamentals of the main game i.e. creating dinosaurs and meeting their basic needs, introducing you to the 3 divisions and how you'll get and complete missions, introducing you to the dig sites and how to gain and extract DNA. The starter island isn't meant to be "lets make it all look pretty and nice with fountains and fairies" - that'll come later

If you play the campaign of virtually any kind of game, the first mission is normally there to teach you the controls and the basics of how to play the game, you don't get absolutely everything right at the beginning.

I agree with your concerns, I just think they're currently a bit too far out. I disagree that frontier need to do anything to calm your nerves because you'll see all soon enough.

You can always wait 6 months until they start patching in changes to address any concerns that are still there after launch.. We as yet have no idea what we will be getting at launch though so who knows

what I heard in one video and this was from Nick Rodgers is that pressing harder or lighter on the button mapped to the tree brush will create different levels of forest. Press lightly for less press harder for more. Like how GTA uses the pressure sensitive buttons/triggers on console controllers. The only issue is that PC keyboards aren't pressure sensitive so there has to be some kind of slider or something for the PC. I have to admit it's a cool idea.

I don't really see the difference if you buy or preorder the game now and then wait till it gets fixed. It's not like the game will be cheaper. You will still be waiting for the game, just you won't have. I will just play around with the game till it does get fixed. I mean as long as fixes/patches are coming and I am sure they will. It's not like you are buy some game from Steam Green Light from some amateur game developer who most likely won't patch the mess of a game they made.

At the end of the day there is always Steam refunds. Just don't play the game more than 2 hours or keep it over 14 days. I wish Steam would increase the number of hours though cause 2 is very short.

New record for a "game is dead" thread has been set.

Congratulations OP, you may hang some kind of plaque on your wall.

This!!

The game isn't even out yet, we only know so much of what will be included, almost everyone who got to play the demo, (youtubers), are very excited, the game looks awesome in every aspect we have seen so far.

Yep the verdict has been made already, a monumental letdown, sheesh!!!!

@OP
Just don't buy it okay? You'll only be disappointed surely........
