Anyone else who saw Jurassic Park in cinema?

I went to see it with my father back then.I didn't know about the movie untill my father told me.He knew i was a huge dinosaur fan.We went to museums and whatnot.I read books and had dinosaur plastic toys.

Then my father came up to me as he knew this would be a movie for me.So we went to see it and it was just wow!
The movie had so many great moments.A once in a lifetime expierience.
You can't compare a movie watched on a tv screen even in uhd with a cinema. If Jurassic Park will ever be in a cinema again i urge you to go and watch it.
My father couldn't stop talking about how the lawyer was eaten on the toilet.😆

Great memories!

Saw all the movies in theaters... must have been 7 or 8 when I saw the original... actually, saw the original in theaters 7 or 8 times... in retrospect; I don't know why... I was a little kid who liked dinosaurs and I guess my parents were just happy I was enjoying myself...

Yes, Jurassic Park is actually, the very first movie I've watched in cinemas, I was 4 year old back then, I'm still asking me, what were my parents thinking? But that day has changed my life forever

It was my first memory of a movie ever, but on a TV, peeking through a half closed door at 4-5 years old xD
That made me a dino total nutt!!
Lost World is the first movie I remember seeing in cinema, ever, on a balconey very much like the ones from the Mr.DNA ride in JP 1 ! That was awesome ! Gosh I miss 35mm projection :°

Yep i watched it in theaters! I was probably only 7 at the time. It was so awesome! I remember hearing the morning radio shows talk about how the movie was so scary and you shouldn't take your kids because it'll frighten them and they wont like dinosaurs anymore.... Psh!!! Nothing could be farther from the truth!!! It only made me love dinosaurs even more!!! We finally got to see real dinosaurs, or as close to it as we ever will.
0 to 7 it was like Land Before Time every day lol

After 7 it was JP every day until i was out of that stage where u watch your fav movie every day as a young kid lol.

I was 8 years old when JP came out. I turned 9 later on that year. I was a dinosaur fan when I was a kid. I was in a theater and we saw one of those cardboard advertisements. It was probably around 1992 when I saw it. I don't remember what movie we were seeing at the time but I remember my dad say "hey look at that, it looks like it will be about dinosaurs. I will take you to see it". I didn't see it once but twice. Anyone who isn't old enough to remember JP was huge in the 90's. My aunt worked at the Toys R US on the other side of the city from where we lived and my parents asked her to set one of the big red Rex's aside for me cause they would be sold out for weeks. Of course this is back when kids used to play with toys and they were super expensive like they are now. I had a bunch of JP toys and even some of the Lost World toys. But by the time TLW came out I had outgrown toys and was playing video games more often. I mostly just collected them. Which means they got opened up and they collected dust. lol

I still don't know why we can't edit out posts. But this is the cardboard standee/standup I remember seeing as a kid back in 1992. I didn't even notice till my dad pointed it out to me.

i watched jurassic park on the VHS when it was still a thing :(
saw the second one in theaters though :)
Jp was actually the first vhs movie i've bought with my own money.Well pocket money that is.Then my best friend brought his vhs recorder over and i made a copy for him.Hooked up two vhs recorders together. It took the actual movie length to make the copy.

I miss that time.

Sono andato a vederlo con mio padre allora. Non sapevo del film fino a quando mio padre non me lo ha detto. Sapeva che ero un grande fan dei dinosauri. Siamo andati a musei e quant'altro.

Well im watching the movie now. There's no drop off for the cage forklift hook up. But other than that they did a pretty good job. Of course there's the uniforms not being long sleeve. But that's not too bad.

I just wish they had created the island a little more accurately by putting the water fall heli pad location in. The double gates the jeeps go through. And the tunnel between dilo and rex paddock.. But they still did a pretty great job.

Other things i noticed while watching the movie tonight... There are Ducks at the pond in front of the visitor center! Never noticed them before. Also nedry drinks Jolt soda, not coke like i thought! Mind blown lol. Another suprising thing is nedrys computer has those baby boom sticky notes on it people saw in the trailers and thought it meant we were getting breeding. If i had watched the movie more closely i would have known better lol. Also aside from at the visitor center the electric track doesnt have a paved road underneath it. It's usually a red or black/grey gravel road it drives over.

I did too, and I loved it. Thinking about that does NOT make me feel old.
Sadly, it meant that my parents for years had to deal with only dinosaur-themed gifts.

I didn't see it when it was first released because i was 2, but from those who did it must have been an awesome expierence. Cinema's were decorated in jungle style etc. But i was able to see it in the cinema on its 20th anniversary in 3D. Didn't like the 3D version that much but it still amazing watching it on the big screen

I'm seeing a few here who were 7 when they saw it in theaters. Prime age for impressionable kids.

I too saw it with my dad and brother opening day when I was 7, blew my mind. I don't think I blinked the entire time! It's the only movie my dad has ever gone to twice, he had to bring Mom because he thought it was that important, huge surprise for my brother and I too being able to see it again in a smaller town's theater weeks after it left our theater.

He didn't even tell us, just said we were going for a drive, 20 miles away. Awesome, thanks dad.

Got all of series 1 and 2 toys as a kid except the carnotaurus, I didn't want it cause I thought it looked dumb, lol. Now it's the most valuable.. figures.

Watched the vhs every night starting at 6:53 since my bedtime was 9.. obsessed.

Needless to say I have never been the same.. lol I'm wearing a JP shirt with 4 JP posters in the room and tons of merch.. even a wood carved logo I did years ago.. JWE has been great, but now with RtJP Its all over lol.
