Sounds pretty fishy
Yeah bro it's not about the money of the rebuy. it's so fdev knows there's some kind of problem in their game that they need to fix before it becomes a big reason why people play different gamesDo you really need a support ticket because your ship blew up when you can easily make over 200 million credits an hour. What was the rebuy cost- around 500K? That's not even one ton of painite. In the time you wrote the ticket, you could have outfitted your ship for mining and earned an easy 20 million. FD cannot return any data or materials. They can only give you credits to replace your ship. Credits have no value anymore!
All you do by raising a ticket is waste their time and give them a good laugh because in most cases they can see exactly what you did wrong. They always feel sorry for you, so they give you some worthless credits.

Like others have said I think you have got the wrong end of the stick on this. The point wasn't "boo-hoo I have died, gimme back the rebuy" - the point was "Hey how come my ship blew up when it was parked on a planet 19Kylies out?"
Since the journal didn't / doesn't provide enough information to see what happened then I think it is worthwhile to raise a support ticket to get them to look see if there was / is some glitch / issue that is affecting the game. Restoration of credits is secondary, I don't know if they can restore the lost explo data these days but that would be worthwhile. Unfortunately they can't (as far as I am aware) reset / cancel the "Insurance Claim" involved, which is a bit of a pain if in ironman mode and you get destroyed by a glitch.
"Run out of oxygen", by the way - that sounds like a fob-off to me.
Those explosions due to overheating look like they might pretty handy at using up all the available oxygen, and cold hard vacuum would suck out the rest from your lungs quick-sharp, so......"Run out of oxygen", by the way - that sounds like a fob-off to me.
I understand that. My comment was about the bug report and the further encouragements to do that, not about the request about what happened, which I had answered in a previous post. We know that nearly all the ships that "spontaneously blow up" actually do it for a reason that the pilot wasn't aware of. Instead of trying to figure out why it happened, their first action is to report a "bug" because they couldn't have done anything wrong, obviously.Like others have said I think you have got the wrong end of the stick on this. PPS "Run out of oxygen" wasn't mine if that was aimed at me.

Yeh, I don't feel this is resolved, even by your, er, exceptional standards.I know the feel - I really like fighting with life support off for both tension and added atmosphere, and I've forgotten to turn it back on way too many times.
OP was only gone 30 seconds, though, and it's very obvious when you're on life support - heck, I don't even think 30 seconds is enough for a ship to cook to death. Sounds like a bug.
