Hardware & Technical Anyone know of a twist stick hotas, apart from saitek?

My 2nd saitek broke yesterday. Both my x55, and x56 have broken twist on the stick.
The warthog looks good, but does not twist.
I really like the x56 for elite, but the quality is rubbish!
i am looking for a good quality stick.
I don't really want rudder pedals

How badly do you need twist? The Warthog is superb in all other respects. My wife uses an X52 and I have a Warthog, and they're lightyears apart in quality.

thrustmaster make 2...tflight and the t16000m

I use a warthog, and bound the yaw to coolio hat when not using pedals....works fine
There is more than one way to yaw a ship :D

I have an old x52, the blue model, from when Saitek still was Saitek. must be 15 years old and still works fine. They made them better back then. You might be able to find one on ebay, they range in price from 80 to 150 bucks. Another twist hotas would be the Thrustmaster T16000m. Much less buttons than a saitek product, but decently made and really affordable.

Logitech Extreme 3D Pro.

(notably though, the twist Potentiometer of that HOTAS is its weakest part - decalibrates increasingly after a few weeks of use already)

To make it easier, I'm placing a link to Amazon for the T1600m. https://www.amazon.com/Thrustmaster...8&qid=1493733533&sr=1-2&keywords=thrustmaster

I find it to be a wonderful flight stick, a great upgrade from the HOTAS X for those like myself that just can't afford to drop the price of a new computer on a flight stick. The sticks are responsive, highly customizable and have enough buttons to do practically everything. The only le I have against it is the analog used for controlling lateral thrusters is on the left index finger, which takes a while to get used to.

VKB is developing a modern combat grip with a twist adaptor for its product line. Don't know when it'll be out, but I am tempted.

Aint we all.....but after the long wait for their current new stick, and the wait for a throttle (eventually) I wont hold my breath

I also thought i need the Twist. But after the 2nd X55 Thruster (the usual Cable-Break-Problem) broke, i bought a Warthog.
Sure, i could have rewired it for myself, but if i pay ~200€ i dont want to invest time in that product :)
To my Surprise i can live without Twist very easy.
Even Relearning to fly after rebinding the roll Axis from X55-Twist to x<->x was not a real Problem.
On my Warthog i bound YAW to the mouse-nibble on the thruster and to left<->right on the CMS-Switch.
Works perfect now.
If you can afford it, you should get a Warthog.

PS: How in Hell did you break the Twist on your X55/X56 ? Didnt knew that this could also be Problem with X55/X56...

I've been using the cheap as chips Thrustmaster T-Flight Hotas X for over 2 years, hard play most days. Still going strong, amazing value for money.
I've no experience of anything else, so have nothing else to compare it with personally. I do often wonder if I'm missing out on something by not throwing more money at a different stick, but I'm really very happy with it :)

Ditto - £30 from Amazon, terrific HOTAS for the money, has stick twist for yaw.

I just saw that I can buy the warthog flight stick separately.
Do you guys think I could use the saitek x56 throttle, and the warthog stick together?

I use an x52 stick (still going good after 4 years) along side an X56 throttle. (I hate the x56 stick with a vengeance). It's an excellent set up. So yes, you can use the x56 throttle with another stick.

Many thanks guys for all the advice.
I have ordered the thrustmaster warthog flight stick. No twist, but what the hell! I will hopefully use it with the saitek x56 throttle.
