Anyone running 980ti with good results

Overall, performance with specific benchmarks or other games does not accurately represent the performance of a given card with ED.

Different games and benchmarks have different performance demands and may be subject to different bottlenecks. For example, take most Direct X 9 games... on the most part it does not matter if you are running a 980Ti an 870Ti or a 560Ti448, the performance tends to be roughly equal. The higher end cards may even perform slightly worse despite being on paper more powerful.

The 980ti works fine in ED with the Rift for me. I have no plans to upgrade for at least 12months.

I'm running an EVGA 980Ti with a i7 6700k and get really good results. I run HMD 2.0 with ASW running, it's plenty. Though I'll be upgrading to a 1080Ti in a couple of months, just because I'm a slave to the shiny shiny. Though the 980Ti will see you good in VR for a while yet.

You don't mention how much RAM you have so just in case, it is worth noting that I found doubling my RAM from 8 to 16gb made a positive difference in performance even with a 1080. Should do the same for the 980 as well I guess if you are only running 8gb.

My CPU is an I5 3570 @ 4.2gh.

I run an overclocked 980ti with the Rift and Vive and mostly play at VR High with the following tweaks, I get some judder around stations or in rings but switching to VR Medium gets rid of this.

Blur = Off
Ambient Oclusion = Off
Supersampling = 0.65
HMD Quality = 2.0

I've experimented with the supersampling and hmd quality settings extensively and found that this offers the best clarity and sharpness with the least impact on performance. I've tried setting SS = 1.0 and HMD Quality = 1.5 but this appears to impact performance more for no distringuisable difference.

Thanks everyone. I kept the 980ti. I put my 6 year old 2500k and motherboard to rest and upgraded to a 7700k. This was all I needed I can crank settings up without judder. I am still playing with the settings to see what I am going to settle on. Just got into my first large scale fire fight. It was fantastic.

Is the Oculus debug tool a thing people still use in this game or did the HMD Quality setting replace that?
