Anyone seeing ED using more VRAM than before?

Seems like my VRAM is constantly maxed out for some time, which wasn't the case before. Anyone experiencing this or do I need to check my settings?

Yeah I've noticed. Lowered the resolution (VR) a bit and it's less of a demand.
But the micro stuttering still persists. Especially during the day (peak time).
Micro stutter is present in non-VR as well.
There's a Youtube vid mentioning it happens pretty consitently at 5-past the hour, then between 20-40 minutes later.

Not recently but yep, ED loves VRAM (and CPU).
Playing in 4k with DLDSR x2.25 (so 5760px resolution, which is the only effective way to get rid of the aliasing).
I am seeing 18GB (total, including about 2 GB for Windows) and noticed a couple of time that it did max out the 24GB of my RTX4090.

Even today, sitting in front of an on-foot terminal at a station (waiting for the mission board to refresh), I was super high in VRAM and GPU running almost constantly at 90-100% frequency, even reached max 87 degrees Celsius.
But guilty, DLDSR does not help ;)

As for stuttering, it happens frequently but it seems related to communication with the FDev servers, since I have not observed any bottleneck when this occurs.

Yes, since last november my VRAM usage was 30-40%, now upon loading the usage starts at the 30-40% mark and climbs over a few moments to 70-80% and stays there the rest of the game session. I just tested it on a fresh game load onto a concourse. The usage stays the same 70-80% in space as well.

I am not a programmer or tech guru, i am curious, can vram be used to process info for the bgs? I have heard vram is used for search algorithms.

When Power Play 2 was launched i don't recall the vram going over my 30-40% mark. I wasn't watching much when trailblazers launched, but don't remember seeing unusual numbers until after the second or third trailblazers update. Last night it hit 92% at one point. Non VR user here.

Odyssey has always used significantly more VRAM than Horizons, but for nearly the last year or so I've been having issues with 8GiB cards, which I'm fairly sure was not the case before.

Unlikely any of that is done client side.
