Anyone seen Military Supercapacitors as Mission rewards ?

Hi, as the thread title says: has anyobody ever seen military supercapacitors as rewards for AX restoration or evacuation missions in Alert Systems? According to Inara, they are in principle available as mission rewards (is that correct?) and I think that above missions sometimes offer „on ship“ g5 materials. Alternatively, are there any other mission types that give them away regularly when completed? I really don’t want to roll the frustrating RNG dice for days with endless HGE supercruising (I am trying to farm 20 Military Supercaps🤪).

Thanks in advance,
Mike

I have not ever seen military supercaps as a mission reward(and I’ve done plenty), only biotech conductors and exquisite focus crystals *for manufactured mats.

🙃oh ok, that’s not good - then apparently Inara is wrong on that. Thanks anyhow, saves me from further useless mission board browsing 👍 High Grade Emssions, here I come 🥳

Oh those things*. Yes, those are well known to be quite rare. Best bet is look into high grade emission signals where the faction that 'owns' it is at war or do a bunch of the missions with the biotech conductors and exquisite focus crystals and head to the mat trader. They don't turn up very often at HGEs though. Either that or I'm unlucky.

If that gets repetitive, sometimes incoming enemy Anacondas drop them.

*Not my first choice of word for these, but forum rules are what they are.

On those, gather other mats in their category and trade up. 6 for 1 for G5 mats isn't fun, but the same 6 for 1 for G4 to G5 in the same category is ok, since you can gather a ton of the G4 mats quite easily. I am assuming 6 for once since the raw mats were trading similar, it's been a while though since I've hunted manufactured materials.

Ok, so I just have to quickly collect 120 polymer capacitors and then „I‘m done“, right 🤪🤓?

Got extreme luck and collected 21 in Cornsar from HGEs in 30 min🍀😍🥳
Now have got 4 Sirius AX Missile launchers I cannot shoot with reliably🤧
Hope that gets fixed soon

As always: When it comes to rare materials, they are usually much easier to get from a material trader than trying to find them in the wild.

Farm for some really valuable rarity-5 materials and then trade for what you need.

A few years back I got mine as HGE's in Civil War systems. Iirc you just keep scanning and eventually the HGE ones will appear.

Just scan the nav beacon, all signal sources will resolve.

War / Civil War HGEs, preferably in Alliance / Independent systems, preferably with factions that have no other states (INARA is good to spot those systems/factions)

If you go in Fed / Imperial systems, chances are you'll get their specific power dependent materials (Core Dynamics / Imperial shielding) instead of Military SupeCapacitors or Military Grade Alloys.

However, be advised, that the Military SuperCapacitors are the rarest of them two, so chances are you'll get more HGEs with Military Grade Alloys instead of SuperCaps

Couple helpful things just in case others glancing through could use the info.

Note that some of those G5 mats are so rare even if you are looking in the perfect system, it is often quicker to just go to a high-population Imperial system (there are certain prime candidates), farm Imperial Shielding until full and trade that for whatever you need. I think especially Mil Supercaps, Pharm Isos and Impro Comps are virtually non-existent (unless Frontier fixed that at some point in the last year)

Anecdotal, but in my personal experience I've never found any of the things on the list there any less frequently than the others, given that I'm checking systems with ideal matching features (using inara). It's just RNG, in the end. Luckily with the relog method, you only have to hit once or twice per g5 mat type. It can be the case that there's just few systems that match the criteria of having factions in the right state, none in the states you don't want, and no long supercruise times, though.

Imperial shielding crosstrade is certainly a consistent alternative. Speaking of consistency, the area around Cubeo's been pretty good for me for that.

Amusingly, I did find a HGE with Mil Supercaps just last night and was able to farm it 3 or 4 times, which should cover my needs of this branch for a long time. More amusingly, what I was actually in that (Outbreak) system for were Pharm-Isos, which however did not spawn. 😅
