I work when I feel like it. I decided end of december that I didnt feel like working in january.

Don't need to. By the time the download is complete, it'll be the 26th of January over here.....which happens to be a Public Holiday .

I would, as others have said, be wary about taking a day off just for ED Beta. As others have said there is no time for the release and even if there was stuff can happen that pushes the release back. Take the Friday off instead and then enjoy a long weekend of action!

I'd say even Friday is not a good idea. This is a huge update. The chances of something going wrong and there being extensive downtime in the first few days isn't negligible.

I've never taken time off for a launch. It's just asking for tears (and we've seen plenty of those here for that reason).
