Anyone witness SALVATION TRIGGERS SUPERWEAPON VICTORY?

This was most certainly not the climax nor the end of this storyline, but merely the end of a two week incursion of three systems. Thargoids being sent home via Superweapon happened before (this was the second deployment) and will likely happen again (well, attempted at least ;)).
That said, some sort of in-game representation of the deployment shouldn't be too much to ask. Something simple like an inbox message would do, maybe whip up something from the existing Goid sound FX that gets played system wide to signal the retreat. "Show, don't tell" is a constant struggle for EDs storytelling due to (among others) the setup of the daily/weekly tick system, so any opportunity however small (and especially the small ones) should be taken - especially those times when there's a high likelihood that CMDRs are present to witness an event, and this Superweapon deployment scenario would've been a prime candidate.
Here's a question, and i've never checked so i dunno..maybe its a thing, but there should be POI's...like HGE style of thargoid remnants for a day or two after the weekly update/tharg cg end. Or new planetary tharg crash sites in the system in question

Some kind of aftermath evidence other than the damaged stations

Those who did see it don't remember it. Other than that, this weapon is perfectly safe.

I think there SHOULD be a few dozen thargoid escape pods all over the place, or pieces of ships with salvageable piece parts we can take home and install.

It's possible the superweapon has been refined since Cornsar/Pleiades to only disrupt the thargoid's communications and not their biological functions. Nobody can say Salvation is inhumane...

I can.

Guys play with a superweapon. Knew about a secret age old conspiracy involving human experiment and other bad stuff. Had real luck with Thargoids attacks on system increasing just after the Alexandria was sabotaged and had all there guardian stuff stolen, and some guardian artifcats being found in the first system attacked.
Also own his own shadow network of organization and even ships.

Oh, and he is purposefully hiding his identity. I'm sure he is just very shy.

Totally sure it's just a random good guy doing nice stuff around. What could possibly go wrong with trusting the lead of a shadow organization who hide its identity and play with a superweapon ?

Ladies and Gentlemen, I give you Salvation,

Salvation is a Guardian AI
"hi, I will hide my identity. Me and my shaddy organization will build a super weapon and I know shaddy conspiracy stuff nobody else know. Also, I'm your friend !"
Who is this person likely to be :
A/ A shaddy guy with link to said organisation and he want to hide his identity for obvious reasons
B/ A mysterious thousand year old Alien AI nobody have met (or even know if it exist) who suddenly want to help humanity, because reasons.

Yeah, probably B. Make sense.

Nah, we scoured those Guardian sites, stumbled across an old AI and are using it to develop anti-Thargoid weapons.

Well, at least I'm not alone thinking that this so-called "superweapon victory" opens a lot of questions that seem to go completely unadressed by the storytellers. This is pretty shallow and should be fleshed out at least a bit if you want to go at least somewhat serious with the story... I mean, even if there's no witnesses for whatever reason, there should at least be reports about fruitless inquiries by the press, or the other involved agencies... This is a gaping hole.

We'll, the latest Salvation super weapon event had an in game presentation in keeping with what I would hope for in an MMO video game. There are critics - some people will never be happy. My only complaint is it all happens while I'm on vacation and I can't participate. I'd have gone in to Fort Ach(?) to rescue stranded commanders and brought them back to my home system where all my ships and fleet carrier stand ready to defend the system from whatever retribution the Thargoids intend.
Yeah, my bet was on the super weapon not working.
Good job FDev 👍
