As someone who usually defends Steam, this time it's actually Steam's fault. I was having the exact same problem trying to get into Red Dead Online last night, due to Steam's authentication servers being broken (supposedly due to DDoS). I like the idea of Steam being a one-stop shop, but I hate that it also is a one-stop authentication server, rendering ALL of my online games useless when it goes down (thus literally being a "one-STOP" attack vector)..So, to improve gaming, now we don't only have to worry about the actual game's servers being down, we also have to worry about the game's market space being down as well. As we all know, the best way to improve stuff is to add needless levels of complication to stuff.![]()
