I am glad most didn't, as it shows most players unlike you are not eager to exploite game mechanics for their own benefits, which would have of course result in action from Fontrier - to never do such CG event ever again. We have avoided the crisis and saw the goodness in ED players to not exploite Frontiers good intentions.
Wot, m8?

So how did everyone do in this CG? For myself even with limited game time (in my opinion) and the server issues I managed to get 4.1 billion from this CG, wow, Thank you Fdev! Now I can afford a FC, but do I really want one???
I delivered 15k and made around 6,5 BCr; I stopped when I had reached 10 BCr, and then dumped 3 BCr in my carrier. I delivered around 9k from neighbouring systems doing 5 jumps on the last runs, after that I decided to sell out some of my carrier stock that was parked in Songala. Then I jumped my carrier out to the other side of the bubble, parked next to a station with 300k supply and put out a buy order at 150 k/t. Refilled my carrier in less than two hours, sitting on 15k Tritium. I have 7 BCr in cash now, 2.7 BCr in my carrier's bank, and a boatload of Tritium. I'm very pleased :) . They can burn the bubble now .

Too bad that people didn't understand that this CG was special...
If this was to be a special CG, why did they not say so?
Instead the just stated in the Frame Shift Live that they want people to be able to participate and will add stretch goals if it seems that the community is getting through them too quickly (around 1:01:30 if the time stamp does not work in the link).

My suspicion is that the whole thing was a mistake. I guess FD used a formula they've previously used for other CG commodity prices, and it turns out that the price range of Tritium made the result a bit of an outlier.

I don't think it was a problem though. FD have previously stated that they want there to be occasional gold rushes. As long as these are different each time and don't feel exploity, I'm all in favour.

I didn't get a lot of time to play, but an extra billion credits was very nice. :)

Yeah, I grided two or three billion and got myself an FC. x)
Only "lost" 3000t of Tritium because did not want to start the grind on Sunday morning.
At least I don't have to worry about re-fueling for a while. And the maintenance is covered for few years as well. :D

Yep mined items are ~x2 the average price in CG and cargo items are ~x9 in average price in CGs...
So when you take an optionaly mined item and apply cargo multiplier it is stupidy high as it was in this CG...

Bank Holiday and Weekend, can't change course while no one's at the helm.
Wellllll, honestly, if literally any of the staff play the game, I'd have thought they could have let someone know. Remote login to tweak a number should be a 5 minute job...

Which happens on technical emergencies, but not when a few CMDRs are about to lose out on getting trade Elite V and a fleet carrier in a day.

I can remember them adding stretch goals in the past on the Thursday and Friday* several times and the Saturday maybe once I don't recall them ever doing it on a Sunday.

* They even launched a follow up CG on the Friday once because the original had finished on the Thursday.

And if it was a serious issue to the community more of the 8,000 plus contributors could have baled from the CG and just milked the credit farm until 09:00 BST tomorrow when the shutdown happens.

GOLCONDA RECEIVES VITAL SUPPLIES

Pilots’ Federation ALERT
Shipments delivered to the Upaniklis system have enabled the Golconda generation ship to resume its millennia-long voyage.
Tritium, medical diagnostic equipment and power generators were needed to finalise the retrofit of the ancient vessel. Bounties were placed on all wanted ships in the system to protect traders from pirates targeting the flow of traffic to the Golconda.

A statement was provided by Captain Jonathon Forester:
“The Golconda has now achieved full operational status, and for the first time is capable of faster than light travel. I offer my deepest gratitude to all those who made this possible. It will be my honour to once again lead my people on our journey among the stars.”

The majority of the original population have begun to migrate back to the generation ship, which nurtured their isolated micro-civilisation for over a millennium. A few thousand Golcondans have elected to remain at Forester’s Choice outpost, under the guidance of the ship’s former custodian Erin Grey.

Itsuko Harada, CEO of Upaniklis Vision Incorporated, announced:
“When the Golconda first arrived in our space, we were pleased to play a part in rescuing its people. I am likewise overjoyed that we could aid its historic rebirth. Rewards for all pilots who made deliveries, and those who defended them against criminals, are now available at Fozard Port.”

The Golconda’s transformation was achieved thanks to the advanced engineering skills of the Artificers Clan, who performed repairs and updates at great speed. The clan’s dredger has now left the Upaniklis system, having been provided fresh food supplies by the Golconda Union.
