Are E-breaches stealthy?

I've only used e-breaches in abandoned or hostile settlements, so I didn't care whether anyone heard me.

But can I use an e-breach to hack a door as long as guards are out of sight?

Or does applying the e-breach trigger an alarm? Will NPC's inside the building hear me?

I'll probably already know the answer by the time someone responds. But hopefully this will be useful to someone.

As long as someone doesn't see you apply it or stand near it, E-Breaches are stealthy.

Be wary - NPCs do react to deployed E-Breaches and will go into search mode when they detect one.

In abondened or evacuated settlements with death habitants you do not need e-breach, if you bring the settlement online.
The only part where you need e-breach (or the cutter) is to enter the PWR building and reach the energy regulator cage with a working energy regulator.
The regulator you can obtain easiest by taking a reactivation mission and abandon the mission, pay the fine of 100.000 CR.
In settlement clone a Security 3 profile from a death body, then use the energy regulator in the PWR building to switch on the power.
All doors will open for you then automatic and additional you can download data from the data-points.
After your work is done, shut down the settlement and take your energy regulator back, then leave.

As long as you are out of sight of the guards or other ppl you can do any crime.
But your crime may become registered if a guard see the open door you break with the cutter or with e-breach.

As been said, if no one sees that E-breach you are safe.

But i once got caught by a guard while i was browsing a breached Terminal...
It didn't end well, for the guard i mean... 😂

I was also been surprised while picking up an item marked as stealing... - the npc started to shoot me in an instance.
I just run out and away... i only got a fine for it (since i did not returned fire, it was only a fine and not a bounty)

The last time I did this, some scavs spawned and blew up my SRV. This inexplicably killed me when I was inside, dozens of meters away, and behind several security-locked doors.

I lost the power regulator.

Hmm, then it wouldn't work at my nemesis settlement. There's a command building with only one entrance and very close guard patrols.

If ground based multiplayer ever works, I'd love some help razing Hook Arms settlement to the bare dirt.

With great excitement, I opened this thread anticipating news of an electronic update to the 16th century garment for the 31st century mountebank.

On closer reading, I was disappointed to discover that this is actually a discussion of e-breaches. Whatever they may be...

Srv explosion seems to be very powerful and it seem to have a really large radius...
However, getting killed inside, through walls looks like a bug

Well, looks like I'm blowing up my SRV until I find a safe distance...

This happened at Ryu's Laboratory in Gnowee, right near Shin. Dez. I parked by the door closest to the PWR room and died probably a dozen meters from the door.

Yep, destroying an SRV at 40m took a G4 Mav shields down to 40%...

That seems excessive. Can you nuke an entire settlement by self-destructing an Anaconda?

Ooh, can you disembark after setting the self-destruct?
