Are the PCs assumed to be human?

I think in the first release there should be no aliens, not even Thargoids. That way it will give time to develop a fully featured story arc.
Thargoids can be introduced in a expansion pack.

Just wondering, are the player's characters automatically assumed to be human pilots, or are their going to be alien species?
It was goofy, but I loved the ubiquitous (and silly) alien races everywhere in the original Elite.
I liked all the "aliens" in ELITE as well.
Perhaps they were not space faring at all but if they have a civilisation and technology then you would presume some kind of sentience.
I think NPC's are human pilots. This is speculation.
We know humans and the Thargoids and hints of possible Rogue AI is what is out there but I am keen to add "....the we are aware of." The place is big and there will be lots of exploration so who knows what people will find.
As for Liqua's statement I would say Human if everyone in the galaxy originally came from Earth.....and humanoid if they didn't. I don't know......did people all originate from Earth in the ED Universe ?
