General / Off-Topic Are there Aliens out there?

I go to sleep every night with two dogs a Chihuahua and a mix twice as big feeling safe and as close to my body as possible. When they feel safe and secure they exhale a lot of air then go to sleep.

In my dream world I'm landing a Sidewinder on the USA White House lawn more powerful than the Secret Service or any military aircraft can deal with. My other dream is starting up a Hughes 500E helicopter knowing exactly how to do this with X-Plane 11. 1000 hours in X-Plane with helicopters I might fly one for real if it comes up.

So are aliens watching us? With all the UFO sightings with ballistic maneuvers and our best earth technology aircraft cannot come close what do you think.

Why are all the images in infra-red? Can't anyone take a decent picture with so many "sightings"

It all seems fishy to me

There is always an enemy in the East. Pay no mind to what your leaders are doing, please.

Please Cmdr. Elaborate on the dream about the Sidewinder.

Probably not, most UFO sighting end up being IFO sightings after research and investigation, just because you can't come up with and answer doesn't make it automatically aliens. That's how fake clairvoyants and mediums work on gullible people, they basically do something they can't explain and feed them the line that magic is the only explanation, whereas a trained investigator can soon sort them out.

"Are there Aliens out there?"

Of course.

An official U.S. report on unidentified flying objects (UFOs) concluded that there is no evidence that aliens exist, without however explaining the mysterious phenomena observed by U.S. military pilots, according to U.S. media.

Citing U.S. government officials briefed on the findings of the report, which is due for release at the end of the month, The New York Times reported on Thursday that most of the phenomena seen by U.S. military pilots in recent years remain difficult to explain.

...But please tell me, what do your dogs have to do with all this? And a Sidewinder?
Maybe Star Trek IV the movie directed by Leonard Nimoy and Greenpeace about whales. My final dream is someone will land a Sidewinder in my back yard and with it's power will solve all the world problems. Maybe the dogs are about loving and caring and not destroying humanity.

I was born in 1951 the same year the movie 'The Day the Earth Stood Still' with Michael Rennie was released directed by Robert Wise. The 2008 version with Keanu Reeves was an environmental comment having little to do with real science. Personally an hour of actors saying that we can change? Worst movie repeat ever and was an insult to the original movie.

But we are talking about dreams after playing Elite games then going to sleep. What are yours? What ship do you fly then go to sleep? Being in the USA I try to land a Python on the White House lawn but is is so big! Where would you land your dream ship n the UK?

That's not particularly unexpected, as we get better at understanding how the universe works we get better at explaining phenomena we encounter, the ones we can't explain we don't understand, but that just means we don't understand them...not aliens. In another few years we will be able to understand more, and it probably still won't be aliens.

I don't know. UFOs doing 30g maneuvers that our best pilots can do 9g for a few seconds. Maybe some aliens checked us out, saw how stupid we are then left hoping that we don't kill each other. So far the history of humanity even with technology has issues. We'll see...

Anyone dreaming of having a Starport on Earth with aliens stopping by but protected technology humans would want to get? An awesome star port in Nevada or Arizona would work.

Thousand of years ago humans sacrificed humans in the name of a deity every year thinking if they did this the weather would be kind and crops would flourish. We now know a lot more about weather but have we learned anything?

I want to think it would just be experimental military technologies but ya never know.
That and seabirds, you can see the wings flapping in some of the recent sightings. Their altitude and the speed of the plane taking the footage makes them look really quick as the background whizzes past.

It's that or Harkonnen ornithopters 😃⛱️

After the New York Times tried to destroy a Presidency for four years because they didn't like the guy I don't believe anything they write in their paper. They have an agenda versus the truth. Heck I believe Jeff Bezos who owns Amazon who clearly states his opinions. But let's not get off topic quoting them as reliable facts.

Meanwhile given the infinite number of planets in the galaxy that supports life there are aliens out there who have probably progressed in technology thousands of years beyond us. Why they would bother checking out primitive Earth and humans is only a guess.

In the dream world I am often trying to obtain an impossible goal then waking up to reality. Thank goodness. I live in a city with too many lights at night. I want to sell my house in the city worth a lot and move to a farm house in the boonies of Indiana where I can see the Milky Way Galaxy and see a hawk looking for dinner at night. I want enough property so that my three dogs can run around being dogs without getting hit by a car on a city street.

The only other requirement is a high speed Internet connection to play Elite Dangerous while looking at the stars. Then again this post is all about dreams versus meeting aliens although inspired in Indiana per a Steven Spielberg 1977 movie. If aliens ever come to my house I wonder what food I could cook in the microwave for them?

So what is your dream which this post is really all about? Maybe going to Sturgis South Dakota on a motorcycle with a hot babe or looking to find one? I have a Kawasaki Ninja 650 and every year I think about going there. I sold my Harley version long ago as I feel safer with my ride.

Meanwhile Brutus the German Shepherd is putting his snout in my lap wanting a hug while Chippers the medium size dog is jealous. They are family thus I'll never go to Sturgis without them.

Regards

Are we doomed to be eternally alone in the universe ?

I wish you to live in the countryside. (y)

There is nothing better in these troubled times.
