General / Off-Topic Are there Aliens out there?

I go to sleep every night with two dogs a Chihuahua and a mix twice as big feeling safe and as close to my body as possible. When they feel safe and secure they exhale a lot of air then go to sleep.

In my dream world I'm landing a Sidewinder on the USA White House lawn more powerful than the Secret Service or any military aircraft can deal with. My other dream is starting up a Hughes 500E helicopter knowing exactly how to do this with X-Plane 11. 1000 hours in X-Plane with helicopters I might fly one for real if it comes up.

So are aliens watching us? With all the UFO sightings with ballistic maneuvers and our best earth technology aircraft cannot come close what do you think.
The UFO data, is basically split 3 ways. Fakes, understood and not understood.
The first comes in many ways and can be dismissed.
The second, the objects are understood and regarded as from this planet. This is mostly due to the signals they emit, or can be read. Drone technology is far more advanced than most people realise. G forces are not really an issue and so they can be made, to move in ways, we can only imagine.
The third, are not understood. I mentioned signals they emit. The Brits used to be the world leader, at listening to things, like ships, subs etc.. Once they understood the sound, they could pinpoint basically any ship, anywhere, on the planet. Making use of similar technology, drones can be recognised the same way, along with listening to electronic and magnetic fields. Some of the UFOs or UAPs (Unidentified Aerial Phenomena) cannot be read and they are the issue and I would say, that not much information will be released, about those objects.

As to dreams? I only get them, after binge playing. Two I can remember. One, standing on a top of an Anaconda, I don't know how I knew it was an Annie, I just did. Holding a Multi-Cannon, shooting the pilot through the wind shied. The other, again, I knew I was in my ship, but I was under the dash, trying to fix something, I couldn't reach. That's it.

If I binge play any game, I will have dreams, sooner or later. Had a few from RDR.

I don't know. UFOs doing 30g maneuvers that our best pilots can do 9g for a few seconds.

No-one has demonstrated that's alien ships, and nobody has ever demonstrated that something physical is doing that, radar is iheherantly an interpretive medium, you don't actually see or measure what on radar. Every other piece of so called verifiable evidence of aliens has turned out to be fake or a natural phenomena, there's no reason to suppose that has suddenly changed.

NASA, (who make great fireworks) was opposed to the making of Close Encounters of the Third Kind. They said it was 'dangerous'.

Earth has existed for 4.5 billion years. We have been "civilized" for a few centuries, and have had the capability to "travel into space" (mostly upper atmosphere) or communicate over long distances for even less time. All this is a result of evolution and the system we call Earth. There seems to be plenty of Earth like planets in the Universe, and people like Jeremy England are pretty close to solve the question of how life begins, using physics. I see absolutely no reason why life should be special to Earth, but given that our own civilization probably won't survive this century with business as usual, the timespan a civilization gets to communicate with another civilizations seems very short (relative to the age of the Universe), and it seems highly likely that those civilizations are as short lived as ourselves. Therefore the chance of communication is very unlikely.

However, that assumes that life evolves and works at roughly the same rate all over the Universe. It might be that some lifeforms live much more slowly, kind of like trees. If a lifetime is a million years, then a few thousand lightyears of travel might seem like a short holiday. And that lowers the chance (risk) of being visited even more.

I have no doubt that UFOs exist. I've seen one, but like all the other I have seen, gazing up at night, it most certainly had a very very natural explanation. Like balloons, planes, helicopters, fireworks, clouds, birds, lightning and so on :alien:

Especially those! :alien:
I remember my mother once calling me on the phone.

"I believe there are aliens in the sky, there is an orange light point that does not move " (☺️)

I look out the window and I was very intrigued because I did not know the Thai lanterns.

So I did some research on the internet by typing in Google "Fixed point of orange color in the sky".

We were almost disappointed that there are no aliens. 🙂

If evolution was real, why do i have to wear cloth in the winter, or hide in a warm house? Why does my skin burns on the sun in Summer? Shouldn't our bodies have addapted to the weather, if we have evolved here? Our way of living tell me we are the strangers on this planet. A Colonists at best.
Evolution is real alright, and we have evolved to cope with our environments. Pigmentation of the skin as an example. Big brains to make clothes as another. DNA has shown us in detail how it works. Right now you can witness evolution, whenever the SARS-Cov-2 virus (Covid-19) mutates into new variants, even though a virus isn't alive per se.

Some misunderstand evolution, thinking that there is some sort of deeper idea behind it, or that evolution has it own will, direction and goal. That is not the case. Evolution is random trial and error. If a gene mutates, in most cases that will result in an organism that is less capable of survival than it used to be before the mutation, but in rare cases it might result in light sensitive cells further evolving into eyes, or opposable thumbs turning out to be an advantage.

Some find it hard to accept that humans are biological organisms, just like the apes we evolved from, but the apes were just a step in the evolution. If you go back to when the dinosaurs vanished 65 million years ago, humans ancestor back then was a rat-like mammal (we know from DNA analysis and dating of fossils). All living organisms here on Earth even have a common ancestor being some sort of single celled organism that started metabolizing billions of years ago.

Viruses are like the wind, you can't see them, but you can feel their effect on your body.
Our bodies Immune system is the only facinting part of Human body, how it can cope and adapt to different invaders.

Reproduction system is a very strange one thou, why are we in constant ON mode after puberty, most animals aren't like that, they are more adapted to the earth climate, and their reproductive system reflects that in some ways. Did you knew that femal white cells kill 99.9999% of Males sperm - that's in it self is strange, how something that supposed to be Natural process is beeing rejected by female body. That tells me, our bodies were not evolved but engineered.
I'll bite: Engineered by who? :)

Engineered by what?

Fixed that for you! ;) Assuming a 'who' adds a whole bunch of other things that need demonstrating first...
Yeah that question is hard. Personally I believe in determinism, at least at the scales of concern regarding evolution. If anyone tried to squeeze in some sort of deity here, my next question would be: Who engineered the deity?

That being "said", one thing that puzzles me personally is that from the moment of the Big Bang, the Universe has been evolving "following the laws of nature". Where did those come from, or as I usually ask my scientific friends and colleagues: "WHO invented those", just to see them cringe ;)

I do know all the common answers to that question, and arguments like: You can't speak of north of the North pole, but as my biggest hero ever once said: "I would rather have questions that cannot be answered than answers that cannot be questioned".
