Sadly, if the cat is in the box, eating the cake, then there will be little weight change....

The cat will metabolize some of the food into energy used for breathing, motion, etc - so we can tell whether the cake has been eaten by checking for a small reduction of weight over time.

The box is still sealed though - hopefully the life-support system contained within the box is sufficient to last until someone is curious enough to open the box - it will be a bit of a shock to the person opening the box to find a cake filled fatty- and no cake!!

Frontier should put a rare commodity in the game, called "Schrodinger's Box". There should be only one of these in the entire game, even if you're playing solo. The idea is, you buy it, take it somewhere and sell it for a profit. Then someone else buys it and takes it somewhere to sell for a profit ...

BUT ... each person transporting the box, has an option called "Open Schrodinger's Box" ... and if they do, the box becomes worthless. Then a new box spawns at the original location for people to do all over again.
