But then again, when are humans NOT colonizing places for resources and wiping out native populations through propaganda and war?

That's why I can't convince myself to start shooting them.
Both our races have colliding interests, so conflict seems inevitable, but yeah... we're bunch of arseholles.
We think Guardians were cool only because they're not around anymore to have anything against us taking their stuff and turning their cities into tourist attractions.

i was reading the thargoid lore the other day and thought it ironic the intel was them being a territorial species who will attack other intelligent species they consider a threat for encroaching on locations of valuable resources they claim ownership to.

I attacked all ships with guardian/AC weaponary in the meta alloy systems and got quite a bunch of kills. Didn't stop them but atleast delayed the progress for a day in the imperial systems.
I always consider Thargoids to be neutral. They don't attack you unless provoked with the exception of scouts. Even the scavengers are just minding their business. Guardians, however, always attack.
Imagine what you could do with thargoid tech. And while guardian shield and FSD boosters are useful too, I prefare a hyperdrive for witchspace, regenerative bioarmor and much more.
