Are we waiting for a big update to the game to drop ...... or not?

Mods made a good point on the PowerPlay poll thread that it was getting derailed, so wanted to start another thread.

Are we getting an update today? Anyone?

Bueller...?

There was supposedly a Galnet post but I can't seem to find anything. Does anyone care to link me or screenshot?

(Also yeah, can we try to make this an information thread instead of an arguement one, it would be a nice change of pace) :D

Have a free afternoon. Clipper sat in the hanger watching AI NPCs explode, twiddling my thumbs.

Refresh button on Updates thread only entertains for a while.

Damn, I best get a move on selling those obsolete modules and getting to Achenar ready for that Courier (Got a lot going on in RL at the moment and DmB discount seems to be permanent at wolf so :D)

Edit: Thanks for the info, even if its wrong an educated guess is better than nothing :)

I don't know, but my gameplay last night consisted of buying space taxi, goto Maridal & grab Asp, deconstruct explore Asp, refit for trade. Take Asp to 78 ursae-whatever, buy 6A shield. Do one mission for Alioth Alliance, get Alioth permit.
Take Asp to Alioth, and trade in for cheap Asp.
Go back to Maridal.
Between buying throwaway space-taxis to get to your assets, and the clunky modules screen, and racing against the clock to against a new 10% module loss, this cannot be what FD envisioned when they were developing the game, can it?
Basically shuffling cards, but not actually dealing them?
I still love piloting, but the maintenance of my tiny fleet, I don't know how players with a large fleet do it.

And we would have definitely heard about it. Unless they're going for a "SURPRISE MOTHERTRUCKER" kind of update.

The two sides of people who want it released now, and the ones that say it should wait for more development.

I side with release now, because releasing the patch proper to the whole community means they will get maximum feedback; and I strongly believe important changes and upgrades need to be forced on live servers, as it's quite clear that beta testing in games is very flawed indeed. Annoying a select group of beta testers, the percentage of those that actually report stuff, is nothing compared to annoying an entire live community.

People forget that once a patch is released, they don't completely abandon updating those features.

Oh, I thought Whiterose was talking about hte announcement of release for tomorrow?

Wings happened the same way since most updates hit on Thursday morning.

I'd be ok with that kind of update.

They haven't said anything either way though... Maybe even they don't know.

Judging by the sheer number of bugs and issues that continue to be raised by testers, I can't see it being today. They only released beta 5 yesterday. If it was to be released today or indeed any time soon the backlash from the players would be horrific.

Then again, I'm pretty sure that the forums will be flooded with "new ships are rubbish", "AI is impossibly hard", "can't defend myself in another power's territory" kind of threads. The constructive feedback will be hard to spot.
