I am actually looking forward to tomorrow now.....no work so I'm gonna watch all day....only interested in ED and SC......both are gonna have big stuff to show and totally shock us into the future

I doubt they'll be showing me anything I didn't already know about the game. I expect repeated information on 2.2 and maybe 2.3, as well as possible in-game footage of 2.2 and the announcement of 2.2 beta. It's neat but nothing I feel hyped about.

I dunno. I suspect FD are losing interest in Elite, faster than most of the audience is. The slow development I'm suspecting has more to do with resources devoted to Planet Coaster and the PlayStation version of the game.

I think most of us here do as well.

However importance is a funny thing to me.

Why cant a video game be important? is it because of the word game? or because its ''new''?

Our civilization is built on story telling , fiction and role play ; look at the greeks and romans for example and you will notice a big focus on drama and art.

To me media is just as important as my job because if life was just your job then you would be nothing more than a tool in world working to produce more work.

Video games are (objectively) art , art is important. video games make us happy , being happy is important.

Could I live without games , movies and fiction? yeah , as a drone.
Me and my fiancee met based on our mutual love for star wars and much of modern life is based around older movies and even older stories from all over the world.

Work is one single cog in the machine that is life , and it need not be the center of it.
Yes it is needed and is important , but it should not be seen as the most important in my opinion (that would be eating , drinking , sleeping , human rights)
