This is true and generally the right thing to do. If every employer only wanted to have the best, we'd have a few people who earn millions, an unemployment rate of over 95% and nothing ever gets done...Idk about devs but my life long work experience has taught me employers would rather have an average capable employee that only requires average pay over a talented employee who knows their value. 'Good enough' is good enough but great costs more
I guess i am also not among the top 5% at my workplace. But as long as the plans are reasonable, stuff gets done. And that's what i would expect at FD, too. But every release it's the same again, things look like bolted together and tossed out of the doorway in the very last minute. And i don't really think this is to be blamed on the normal workforce...
