Are you upset about the Mobius attack? Are you unhappy about the dev response? Then embrace the Ides of March!

Stop playing Elite: Dangerous or Elite: Horizons during the week of March 15th, 2016 (2/12-2/19) State your intentions and reasons below.

I think the week of March 15th, 2016 is between 3/12 and 3/19 ;)

Reading the comments to the OP I think I will join the boycott.

I think an Open PvE mode is needed.
The Mobius incident clearly showed that the Private Group Mode isn't a working solution for those who want a PvE only mode.
It clearly showed that a very small group can disrupt the game for a lot of players.
It clearly showed that FD is willing to sacrifice the interest of many for the interest of few if those few are organized in a group.
Some of the replies to threads about the incident show a complete unwillingness of parts of the community to accept that others have different interests. The complete disrespect for others is something I don't like.

Most importantly it showed that FD doesn't care about their own ToS and their own definition of griefing.

Maybe FD needs a wake up call, maybe the community needs a wake up call. Don't know if a boycott is the right way to do it. Maybe making a lot of noise on Facebook, twitter and other platforms would be more efficient.

So, basically, a guy creates a private group, invites random folk to join in and when these invitees start doing what they always do, you pop up with an offer to extort the developers on account of lacking group features. What next? You don't like the colour of the clouds in the upcoming atmo-landing DLC -- we don't play for 3 months? Do you happen to be related to Mohandas K. Gandhi? I know, that's a lot of questions, but I have more! What kind of a thought process brought you here, my man? Roybe, your idea is not good enough and it's a disgrace that idea made it here in the first place. Have you considered asking FD politely?

I politely ask the moderators to nuke this childish extortion thread. EDIT: along with banning that "diagram girl" for 5 minutes or something. If you don't, I swear I'll keep installing and deleting Elite Dangerous silently until I get what I want.

This is getting a bit silly now...I 100% support the notion of an Open PVE mode/mechanic but constructive debate is needed not stamping of feet.

There has been a "constructive debate" for a long time - I've been in it, asking for a PvE mode.
The PvP'ers stamp their feet and FD says the game is fine.

The debate is over. Lines were drawn and crossed.

Invading Mobius is a fine sport FD support and back, perhaps it will become a regular Twitch event? Who knows.
So you either roll over and go play open mode and PvP and be toys for SDC and every other muppet, or fall back to Solo and play alone.

And the PVPers stamping their feet gave the PVE argument credibility...this does us no favours.

You want to show FD they should spend their time doing what you want. Dont you think its fair that others get a chance to say they'd rather see them workung in the actual game rather than the desires of a very small percentage of players? Serious question...

Serious answer...who knows what the %'s are. I am sure Fdev does...but what they are not showing is concern for this crowd's enjoyment to play 'their way' when their response is basically, 'people suck..but at least they play by the rules'. At which point, I feel the rules need to be looked at. This isn't a discussion about the justice system within the game...this really is about people forcing others to waste their time within the game. That rule is wrong at that point.

Look at it this way...the game/PVP already forces PvE players into groups like Mobius. Now the devs have said...'meh...PVP players, you suck if you want to go in there for some seal clubbing, but honestly, the rules allow this so...whatever.' Address this problem and no one HAS a problem. Get some tools for the group owners to turn off PvP...or come up with some other public idea to allow folks to play together in a similar fashion to Mobius...without the possibility of pvP interference.

It had creditability to start with, when Majinvash and his mate invaded Mobius over 12 months ago.
He wanted to prove a point, and he did - there is no "PvE" mode in Elite: Dangerous.

You wave your little sig file about all you like, it will never change the simple fact that if you are in a mode with another person - that person can at any time blow you up. Be it on purpose or by accident. They can give you a beam laser colonoscopy and their is nothing you can do about it.

If you want to play PvE then you either need to push for a PvE mode (a real one) or stay in Solo.
but the time for pretending 20,000 random people are your best friends and would never harm you - is well and truly over.

I don't see the problem with what they did OR with FD's response.

They were allowed into a private group. Someone hit invite on that. Not FD's problem there.
The private group happens to have extra rules besides those enforced by the game code. This group broke them, but without cheating or exploiting game bugs. How is that FD's problem?

FD has provided private groups with a means to kick undesired players already. I'd say they've done their part on this one; it's up to the Mobeus management to police their private rules themselves.

I'm sorry guys, but I do not support this. This is the part where you need to act like grownups and take care of things yourself, not go 'baaawww, dey baaaad, we saaaad hur hurr letz boycott'

...now, if you wanted to boycott in protest of the lack of varied and engaging game content which makes pvp more necessary for some folks, that I would get behind full throttle 4 pips.

I've been in Solo my entire time (2,000+ hours, December 2015), because I know gamers. :( Planning on staying in Solo.

Plus, few work my crazy hours, so winging up isn't realistic anyway.

Crashing the party was an inevitability.

I would pay $100 USD to have a solo mode, with sliding scale NPC difficulty. Since exploration is my thing, it would be worth it to lose the pointless interdictions.

So let me get this straight... You have a thread for people who agree with the boycott, and don't want people disagreeing in it, so you create this thread for people that are against a boycott, and argue for a boycott in it yourself?

Mate, go to bed... your brain not working good.
