Aren't those nerfs to mining too much than promised?

First:
According to the announcement, those three minerals(painite, LTD, void opals) were meant to have prices that seemingly have never been reached since the nerf.
Like Void Opal has long gone from 1M, not to mentioned the promised 1.3M.
Even if you argue that it's about the particular states of systems, it's still insanely low to be possibly buffed to 1.3M.

Second:
If those three are really busted and no hope to return to a reasonable price, what mineral is on the top list now? Musgravity?
I know since the neff we cannot do single mineral run to expect insane income. We need to take all we get. But what should we look for mainly?

Price and demand were 'balanced'. PWA scanner did get fixed this week. So cores will now show in front of your ship. Passenger missions, combat of any type, and pirate assassination missions or pirate massacre missions are all making the same $$$ or more than mining. I haven't mined since the 'balancing' started. r/EliteMiners might be worth checking. And Edtools.cc/miner lists prices now for Osmium, Platnium, and several other minerals. Good Luck

I would try osmium & platinum. Prices are over 200k and demands are huge. Also can laser mine fast. But not sure.
They made prices/demand so average.

I simply want my core mining days back for a leisure and a bit of a profit. And I would never think of those laser mind breaker ever again.

Well, I know we can do everything to earn a fortune today, just curious how mining goes now, especially core mining. I'd love to do some for pleasure and make a bit of money, just like the old days.

Then anything, those M* things (both) had today biggest prices for me like near 700k. VO i sold for 480k I had.
I think if i will want mining, i will do tritium for carrier. Otherwise anything else to do looks better then mining because you get plain money per hour.

I've got sick mining painite for FC the days before and I never liked laser mining. So I guess I would go blow up some VO, but it seems strange as the rebalance promised a 1.3m price and now it doesn't even reach half of that for any station with good states.

As I would probably mine and store them on my FC, just curious what to look for and store these days.

Maybe BGS is broken..dunno. Tritium is 53k in state where it must be 4000 too >:

Tritium they changed the state effects for when they rebalanced the various trade goods.

On the other hand, you can now achieve the same profit margin - with a different state combination - using Gold.

Benitoite and Muskgravite sell pretty well right now. Also just spotted Rhodplumsite of all things selling for 850k
It wouldn't surprise me if all the core gems had some state combination which would put them in the 800-900k range.

Actually I do notice that core mining almost everything mineral would not be too much of a shame now except those particular two.
But it's so weird thinking of how they said it should be expected to reach 1.3M for VO and 700K for LTD.
Just curious whether they do have the intend to fullfill that.

You can get unusual state combinations that give prices that don't initially seem plausible - Ceramic Composites are a good example: the current top price is 26k per tonne in Eurybia, which relies on a 3-state combination which is very difficult to achieve in normal circumstances [1] ... and without that, you get the 5k and 10k prices that the other top stations have.

So it's not completely impossible that there's some obscure combination which would push them that high ... that said, while the Ceramic Composites one would look unbelievably large compared with normal pricing if you didn't know about Eurybia, I don't think there's the components from a standard BGS state set up to make 1.3M Opals, even by combining multiple unusual states.

But... there are other ways it could be done, it doesn't just have to be the current BGS states:
1) Trade/mining CGs significantly boost the prices of the collected goods, and also force demand to a fixed 999,999 - that combined with a favourable state might easily reach 1.3M. We've never had a core mining CG before, so now the PWA is repaired they might go for one.
2) There are 6 BGS states that we're told exist but haven't yet been activated ... and one (Incursion) which we know exists but hasn't been used for a long time. So they might have the effects on them, when they appear.
3) Rackham's Peak has anomalously high prices for certain trade goods (alcohols) which outdo by a factor of 4 the already substantial price effect of Public Holiday. It's not a BGS-locked system either, so the effects could be stacked to give prices of >250k/tonne for Wine if they got a Public Holiday up there too. Now they've demonstrated the option to do this, it might happen for other commodities too.

Certainly it's not going to be like the old "well, there'll be a combination somewhere in the bubble" approach, though.

[1] I was actually surprised to see anywhere in the bubble had it when I checked now - there usually isn't.

I'm not entirely sure that anyone at anytime promised anything?
Pug

I know it's not a definite promise but isn't prices nowadays too far away from this maximum price?

For example, to reach 1.3M VO at commonly highest price 500K needs double buffing, not to mention this is already in good states.
So I just did a simple math with the highest price in Stopover system.

487,977 is what we get after investment(1.5x), civil liberty(1.5x) and public holiday(unknown).
(According to https://cdb.sotl.org.uk/effects/c/256)
So with assumingly the best states together, pirate attack(1.94x) and those two above, we still get 800-1000K only.
There is still 300K distance from the expected price.

So I wonder whether FD is going to mend this gap or just leave it be.
As I see, to get a Pirate Attack is not so reliable so it's already hard enough to reach a competitive price level.

Nice guessing indeed. It could be so.
But I do doubt as this is called rebalance, should it refers to regular situations? At least as regular as we can try to achieve it all by ourselves, even with some luck for random state.

I think it is nice that there is not one material that is the go-to mining material. Happy to see a diverse market with moving prices. With core mining fixed almost any pristine ring can yield good results. You can go look for overlaps, mapped mining, hazres mining for excellent results.

Yes that's no doubt a huge success for this rebalancing except these two old friend seems a little bit low on prices. It's fine actually.
But I just keep wonder is it possible to reach this approximate price they offered, or is it just things didn't go exactly their ways.
