Engineers Argh, no storage. Here's a warning to others

Storage is now a must have. I like the op is working on fsd upgrade. I have everything I need except for Chemical Processors which drop of killed ships. Fine, I will go into a REZ and bounty hunt. Problem, i have a hold full of tasty commodities for fsd upgrade. Have you every tried bounty Hunting with a hold full of tasty, I have managed to kill my target but by that time I have been scanned and am being attacked by a second and third ship. No time to scoop needed Chemical Processors even if they drop. So can't do anything until I get rid of the tasty in my hold but then I can't get the upgrades I want until I run a mission or mine the commodity again. BROKE Devs Please fix this.

Agree, storage needed.

In your case though, what I did in the same situation was use my FSDI in an anarchy system and pulled the ship types that were supposed to drop what I needed. Works well. No bounty, fewer NPC hassles. You will get interdicted occasionally, but it's better than a res/nav.

Yeah it is indeed - it makes you wonder if anyone at FD ever sat down to actually..... you know.... think about this before implementing it.

People don't plan to fail, they fail to plan.

In this case, I'd say both parties are to blame. Sure, FD could have come up with something different, but the didn't. On the other hand, it's a know game mechanic, and players should plan ahead for it.

A shinny new FAS comes with 32 tons cargo space FYI.:D

Except players are not to blame for design decisions they have zero control over. Ever.

Personally sitting out Engineers until storage gets here.
May even ignore it after that if I find RNG re-rolling is too depressing in actuality - I have strong suspicion it will be, based on getting annoyed with it when all it cost me was fish..

Python runs the same FSD as the Asp and the FAS. I've been swapping a grade 4 modded one between those 3 ships all week. Upgrade the Python then sell and rebuy it on the FAS.

How do you trade internals between ships in the safest possible way? I heard you might get instancing issues so that when you change ship, you might not find whatever upgraded part you sold from your previous ship :/

And out of curiosity, how do you feel the FAS handles with upgraded parts compared to the python?

I managed to get a really good roll on tier3 Dirty Drives tuning and the Python now boosts to 390 and handles much better if the gauge is inside the blue bar, but boost+pitch is just as bad :/
Also jump range went from 15 LY to 20, im curious to how much itll increase on a FAS

I have no desire to waste my irl time on engineers upgrades until some kind of storage is added to game, or just by regular playing collect materials needed over time. It is just so inefficient o_O
