Powerplay Faction: Arissa Lavigny-Duval Arissa Lavigny-Duval Power Play Cycle 24

What am I missing?
-16 potential loss

As for why it is a good preparation system. It isn't, by itself, a good preparation system. It is part of what Research thinks is a good strategy that should help ALD in the long run.

This is part of Operation Hades, as described on the /r/EliteLavigny sub-reddit.

To this point, every power has played the same game - rapidly eating up all profitable expansions as quickly as possible. As of now, that is no longer a valid means of moving forward. We have reached the end of the road. It's time to carve out our own way forward.

A successful expansion in Mbutsi for ALD Contests 79cc worth of Exploited systems for Winters. This effectively removes -79cc out of their income. We've been terming it an 'evil prep' in strategy discussions.

The Lavigny-Duval power base is already operating at a -300cc standing-deficit. We have tried multiple times to shed our worst deficit-causing systems, while retaining the profit-making ones. This is why when we did fortify every single system, our enemies did not even have to undermine all of our systems to push us into deficit.

To date, we have only lost 3 out of around 14 deficit-causing control systems, with that number growing every week. This week, we have 3 deficit-causing expansions, and they are all well over their expansion trigger. There is no means of removing systems from our rolls, except with enemy action. The secondary benefit of the 'evil prep' strategy is to attempt to force our enemies to undermine us two weeks in a row, thus giving us a chance to lose our deficit-causing systems, in particular those systems which are never fortified.

Does that answer your question?

If you do not agree with this strategy, please help us ensure Contie and HIP 47328 are in the top 3 of the preparation list.

If you collected merit vouchers from undermining or combat zones, you need to turn them in at a Lavigny-Duval Control System. The bonus/salary does not come until your second week with the Power. Your salary comes from the Rating you have when you started the week. On Thursday, you will either have no salary or a Rating 1 salary, I'm unsure, but you will start next week with Rating 5, which will earn you the 50 million bonus/salary next week.

Much obliged.
