Ships Armour 1A military grade composite am I missing something

Ok, just came back after years away from the game. Kitting out a Krait II for Xeno.
1st item on my list is 1A military composite armour.
Now I assume I'm missing something because if what I think is happening was really happening everybody would be complaining and they dont seem to be.
My assumption is that 1A military composite armour is the same as another 1A military composite armour.
but no?
Currently at Jameison Memorial. There are 42 x 1A military composite armour listed. They all have exact same stats and same description except that the weight and price varies. I have no idea why. Here are a few examples.
most expensive = 165,033,532 CR mass 60T
2nd most expensive = 148,448,874 CR mass 60T
middle of list = 11,304,644 CR mass 87T
2nd from bottom = 78,481 CR mass 4T
bottom of list = 69,347 CR mass 5T
Any ideas? am I missing something?

Armour is ship-specific. Would you really expect a Corvette to be able to use armour from a sidewinder? There is only one Mil Comp armour per ship, though if you store them it doesn't seem to tell you which one they were for, which is a shame.

Thanks for the reply. It turns out it was a bug or something. I read your post and thought yeah but how do I know which one is for my ship. I started up the game and now its only giving me one of that type of armour. For some reason it was previously showing me every armour available to any ship rather than just the one that fit my ship. Next time I run into an issue I'll restart the game before making a post

Its the difference between looking at the armor as a replacement for the current armor of your current ship vs. looking at modules to buy and store immediately, as @Factabulous posted above...

In the first case, it will only show you armor for your ship.

The second case shows all armor in the store/outfitting at that station.

That must have been it. Although I thought I did exactly the same thing both times. LOL ..... so ........ I'll probably do it again at some stage
