ARX buy resources for engineers.

Talking about real money, you completely forgot about the fact that you get a certain amount of ARX for gaming activities. Now ARX is practically useless except for the beautiful paintwork and the look of the cockpit. If you can exchange ED materials for ARX, then ARX will be more useful.
ARX are quite useful enough as it is without reducing the game to a matter of who is richest in the real world wins.

Arx were always useless for anything except cosmetics. Arx is simply how Fdev chose to deal with a multiplatform cosmetics monetization issue they were having.

I do think mat/data gathering should be a bit easier but money for mats/data is a no no. Since engineering data is the product required in the current CG it would make someone able to throw IRL cash at this. You can see how me might be more than a bit apprehensive regarding this idea.

Create a the ability to buy resources for engineers using the ARX in-game currency.

No this...

And here's another small addition, allow players to also trade materials for engineers among themselves for ARX. ;)

And no to that one too...

This is not an EA/Rockstar/Bethesda game (I hate the fact that these once great companies have normalised this abhorrent form of "gameplay").

Might work if a cap was set on it. We get, what, 400 Arx a week for free just by playing the game? So put a cap of 200 Arx per week on material spending (to allow for the fact that not everyone will be playing enough per week to make that 400 limit), and then price the materials such that buying them with Arx is a bonus rather than gamebreaking.

Say, 25 Arx for a grade one material, 50 for a grade two, 100 for a grade 3, 200 for a grade 4, 400 for a grade 5.

That way you get access to a handful of free materials per week. Helpful for getting started on Engineering, helpful for getting that last piece or two for an intermediate to high grade modification but that's about it. If you're relying on Arx to fully engineer your latest gankship, you'll be waiting a long time.

In short, nope.

But I would like to buy them with in-game credits rather than put up with the exchange rate at the material traders. Mind you, given how easily we can make large amounts of credits these days it would trivialise the whole concept.

There's a whole separate "suggestions" thread discussing why this would be a completely unbalancing & game breaking idea, you should probably have a look...

1) Give players agency by allowing them to sell their mats for ingame credits (or swap for other mats)
2) Put all the traders into one seller and have them on the engineer bases then lower the ridiculous markups
3) Give more mat options as rewards for missions
4) If someone's willing to relog at Davs Hope, just give em more on each relog

5) No cash for gameplay shortcuts. Ever! If someone wants a pay to not play there are plenty of 'games' out there for you - just google EA, Ubisoft and now <cries> Bethesda...

Veto - Opens up real money trade. Sure, can be done with FCs on credits already, but credits bear a far lesser relevancy than they had before engineering.

I'd rather see instance lockout for 21 hours or until next daily tick after picking up at least one material of that instance. If, in any mode, the player revisits these special locations, the instance or one in a worse pickup state will be retrieved. Players that are subject to this instance lockout can only be assigned to instances of such locations they are locked out from that have a similar or worse pickup state of materials. Make people roam for the easy spots and eliminate relog as a viable option.

F D have never done this, they even have reworked these locations and never introduced a "lockout" or "refresh period".

In fact they removed the refresh period for datapoints so you can now relog to farm MEF etc rather than fly from settlement to settlement with a week-long refresh period on them. I suppose that was probably before your time but that flitting from system to system to do base-runs scanning datapoints was such a pain in the posterior. If you ever had to do it, you would not have made your suggestion I am sure.

They did remove the relog for HGEs (and mission boards remember) so they can inhibit relogging if they don't want it to be available.
