I have to admit to putting the original on a mantle. Still nothing grabs me as much as that did. Rocking around in my chair as I tried to climb or dive harder... For some reason I don't have quite the same need when playing this newer version as I used to have back when :)

Not saying it isn't good. it's an easy second place ;)

It sounds really g cool, and a good game to pick up and play when I don't have the time to allow for Elite's 10 minute (exaggerated...slightly) startup and load times and BF1's even worse load times to get to a good match...

Unfortunately, I simply can't play it. The problem is they don't let you actually change the controller layout beyond 2 static, present options. I wanted to set it to be most like my Elite setup, but it wasn't absolutely necessary for all buttons. I have been able to fly helicopters and planes in the Battlefield series for a long time, as well as other flight games on the console. However - in BOTH layouts you have to choose from, the 'regular' side to side action when you push the corresponding analog stick is NOT roll, but rather strafe (basically what I only use for landing in ED) - and you have to HOLD THE ANALOG STICK IN while pressing it to the side to roll - was a dealbreaker for me. Hell, even if you could toggle between the flight modes like in ED, it wouldn't be an issue.

It's still in early access or whatever they call it on the Xbox store, so maybe they'll update the control selections as they go. I really want to like this game (or at least have a chance to play it to see if I like it).

There's one advantage in flying a Python... the wings don't fall off too often.. unlike Rise of flight where they shed themselves like withered rose petals after but a few bullets [where is it]

Not my wings this time but the poor Albatross DIII I was shooting at... I recorded this with Xbox-DVR strangely enough, via the Xbox app on the PC.

We're all here because we love space, and elite is incredible. Not always a smooth highway, she gets down right bumpy at times.... like my off road trails. And I appreciate her more for it. But sometimes we need to step away. But why step away from exploring and enjoying space.

I literally own over a thousand games (stopped counting at 1000, closer to two by now) on half a dozen platforms, so could play a different game every day for almost 6 years before I'd have to come back...
