Asp vs DBE

Looking to go out and explore, problem is, my Asp is now a shield warehouse for my python.
So, yes I can go and swap the parts around...

I also have a DBE and when it's outfit for exploring, it'll go 33.8LY vs Asp's 34.88LY
But, the fuel scooping in the DBE will take 1 1/2 min vs 42 sec for Asp.
What would the hardened explorer prefer? Anaconda notwithstanding.

I'd take an Asp. 1 x 5a amfu, 1 heat sink, shield but no guns. Maybe fuel drones to be a responsible citizen

Ok, good to know, been following some CMDR's posts (good writers), and now I've got the bug.
Tonight, outfit and hopefully get out beyond civilization.
Think I'll go left at Albuquerque.

Sure, why not? I just didn't bother - and haven't needed even the 1st one yet (been out for a few weeks now).

Yeah they don't add any weight so I guess why not. But since they don't repair hull or canopy, is there really a point? I was out three weeks and the lowest any ship system got to was 89% I think.

I'll still keep carrying one unless I need room for something else. I've read people say the heat sink launchers have saved their butts but I'm not sure I've yet read anyone say the AFMU saved their butts and if they didn't have it they'd have been toast.

Asp it is, longer jump, less time scooping, more room for extras like limpets.

Unless you want to go Eco jumps all the way, go with the shorter scoop time. As I know you've been around a while, I would even recommend the 6A scoop. It's pricey but that little bit quicker.

6A is out of my budget, I just bought a new ship! :p

My first trip was with a 6C and most recent with 6B so either will suffice. Bottom line is Asp all the way for that trip.

I won't rain on the parade or steal her thunder of one of my fellow exporers. But She posted in a thread similar to this a few days ago and it made me think A LOT. I will try and get the link and post it here later.

Fly with what ever set up suits you. For every hardy Explorer on this site you will get a 100 answers - most of them will sound like they know what they are on about, some will back it up with numbers, some will point to their own exploits. I would have a fly around outside of the bubble, decide what floats your boat -
After all there are many many ways to explore.

Have a go and enjoy :)
