Assassination missions...a question

Worked on attempt number 7 and that’s it cashed in...won’t be taking any more because I could have achieved more rep with non combat missions in the same time. Credits have very little meaning to me, this is fer the rep.

I’ll stick to non combat missions from now on because the sooner I get that rank and back into the black, the better. The rank locked ships are the only thing I can’t have...there’s nothing else worth grinding for.

It’s no big deal was just trying something new while I’m in the bubble...I feel a bit more educated now...now I know I should have stayed away from this place...game hasn’t been as much fun since ^

May I offer some further tips then? Boom data deliveries, and all their non boom equivalents are by a country mile the most efficient rep gathering missions. Do you have an Orca? It;s my favorite ship to do this in, it's such a beauty to fly and nice and fast. So yeh, get in your Orca or other ship with a few cabins, then go to a big system aligned with your chosen superpower, say Anlave for Federation or Cemiess for Empire, and make a note of all the data delivery destinations. As you make the list you'll find that three or four specific destinations crop up more frequently than the others. For each SYSTEM that is being referred, choose ONE station as a favorite, because it is more efficient to fly to the next system than it is to fly to the next station IN a system, but then I expect you knew that, anyway, so, you'll end up with a list of common destinations, now check out the destinations, see how far they are from their stars, narrow the list a bit by removing ones over 2000ls for example, now you may have two or only three destinations, and probably 4 or 5 missions going to those.

Pick up all the data missions to those destinations, reload the board (mode swap) a few times if you're into that kind of thing, or go to a different station int he same system to pick up more. When you have 15 data deliveries to 4 or 5 destinations, start looking at the passenger boards for some extras, because one way transport missions (VIPs and the like), are TRIPLE rep (+++), and count toward your trade rank, not to mention they usually pay pretty well.

As you go around completing those missions, pick up all data missions to the same destinations that you find, and also back to the home station, in all the boards you see, as they do not require a hand-in, so they're just bonus rep. Also do donations as you go.

Once you are allied with all the subfactions aligned with your chosen superpower, move on to the next system. Bear in mind that your reputation with teh superpower affects the speed at which you gain rep with the subfactions aligned to it, so try not to let it decay by taking a few days break, it will really slow you down, this is partly why some people feel a need to grind the whole thing out in as short a period as possible.

That's my method, I hope some of that helps.

You don't need to go to the alternative system to meet the contact. Your mission target will appear in supercruise in the correct system during the time window stated in the mission. If he doesn't show, drop into some random USS and he will often turn up then.
