Assuming Gamma 2.x is the "final" (release) version...

... with just some content/features to be unlocked,
I would just like to say...

BRAVO FD!
The game looks and feels totally AWESOME!
I especially love the look of the starfield and the route planner.
I know there's still work to do, but you have my thanks and admiration.
Right on, Commanders!:D

Yes, yes that star field does indeed look awesome....., you are talking about the one with the elite logo on it from the intro slides right? :p

2.0 - could not even get past the OSSD
2.01 - could actually play (woke up to find that out 5 mins before the next patch -sigh-
2.02 - back to the OSSD again
2.03 - suspect more OSSD
2.04 - see 2.01 above
2.05 - more OSSD
Live Build - Probably more OSSD for the first month and then move on to SC testing till FD fix this fuster cluck.

Sorry but this game is a complete mess atm, the majority of players cannot even play, and the ones that can experience missions vanishing, random self-destructs and other wonderful stuff. It seems to me that instead of focusing on the OSSD till they fix it, they are more content to actually fix other bugs, and completely ignore the hundreds if not thousands of people unable to even play.

I understand the need for bug fixing but there is a bigger issue here that should be getting resolved quicker than what it currently seems to be, and more communication from a Dev/Mod would go a long way to alleviating some of the annoyance and stress some of us are experiencing currently, I think the last meaningful post regarding this issue was 2 days ago, since then the Mods/Devs have just been parroting the same useless solutions that the community have already tried.

Sorry again for the fact this turned into more of a rant than a attempt at a witty post.

Yes, I totally agree with the OP, and I've been locked out since Gamma 2.0 - to be honest I probably should have taken some time to do other things any way.

It's been amazing so far, so immersive and full of detail. Looking forward to losing many more hours inside soon.

I hope this is and isn't the final version.

No- because I want a epic surprise on release day
Yes- because the update yesterday showed how things can get screwed up. If there are teething problems they will be fixed in a few hours, but its all the cynics will write about. Alsowhat would be the point of gamma if we're not testing the final release. After 16th we are no longer test subjects :)

Game is amazing, and the polish in the last few patches has taken it up a notch or two from what I thought was already good enough!

FD are doing a fantastic job, I've had virtually no problems and with the increase in mission type, factions and reputation it keeps getting better.

If this what we have now 2.02 is the same as release then it is disappointing. With so many critical issues and poorly working systems like repuations it is no way in good shape if this was the same as release.

But I am 99% sure FD will fix the major issues before release so therefore a applaud them too :)

Looking at the release notes from the 2.00 release, it looks like it was what I think devs call a trunk release, or something close to it i.e. pretty much everything that was work in process came together.

That being the case, it's expected that there will be some significant bugs in it that they need to iron out - major bugs to be fixed by next Tuesday. When you bring all those different fixes and changes together into one, it causes unforeseen issues.

Furthermore, I doubt they want to release a major new build on Tuesday because it will kill the update servers - better to get as many people as possible downloading in advance. I'm not sure whether pre-order customers have been able to download the full build in advance even though they could not play it, but that would make sense to avoid big problems next Tuesday. In fact, it would probably be madness to release a slew of new changes next Tuesday.

Therefore if I had to bet on it I'd say what came out this week is pretty functionally much what will be the release version, with maybe a couple of small surprises that can be switched on server side. Releases between now and Tuesday will be bug fixes. Also, I doubt they will want to wait until 9pm or whatever on Tuesday to release the game - as it's the official release day I expect to see an early morning release.

Of course, I could be completely wrong, but we will see.

The game is good, but unfinished, empty and there has to be much more varity.
Release is in 3 day's and ED will not get any hype bonuses in the reviews like other AAA games today..

Great been here since alpha never had any problems ive now loaded the latest version gamma 2 and when i get to the loading screen with the cobra on it the game starts to load a little bit then freezes and i cant play!! Anyone know what's going on???????? Thanks in advance

Game is great.

It looks and feels great. The combat is fantastic.

A few little tweaks here and there and it is gonna be awesome. I cannot wait for additional gameplay elements.

the majority of players cannot even play

The hyperbole is strong in this one!!!

It sucks for those who cant play, and obviously its essential it is fixed, ideally without the wiping of a saved position...

But to say the majority cant play is nonsense. (aside from an hr or so period last night of course)

IMO looking good so far.

I still think we need more content, and if I was to attempt of impartially review this right now I would say it is a great looking game universe, with superb sound, a great flight model....... but for the short term lacking a little in content.

I would also comment however that the content is still incoming and would give a solid 8/10 if I was forced into that scoring rubbish.

I am hopefully however that the mission structure etc is going to be greatly expanded upon for the 16th. fingers crossed.

So many can not even get into the game you are joking right!
OK, I forgot to mention "bugfixes" in the OP. I took that as read. :-|

That would be the "content/features to be unlocked"?
I very much hope there will be an epic surprise on release day!
Did I mention the content/features to be unlocked?:D
And if Gamma 2.x is not finall release?
In that case, but I think it's a little late for that, TBH. They're awesome, not godlike ;)
