Asteroid belts are about to get busy - Seriously FD?

How often are you finding the core rocks in the belt clusters?
I've only found 1 out of a dozen or so clusters so far, and it wasn't immediately visible when dropping in. There was about a 30-60 second lag before the roid glowed. That was after several pulses. I've noticed the same in some other clusters with a delay in the PWS revealing surface/sub-surface rocks. I'm wondering if I'm hitting some weird lag bug, or the cores in clusters are a lot rarer than I expected. (or i'm just really unlucky)

It seems to be about one deep 'roid per system of clusters. Sometimes, get lucky and find it quickly, other times .... ughh !

It feels more satisfying to scan the rings, and once you know what you are looking for, can waste fewer prospector limpets there.

I've just been testing out clusters.

They aren't as reliable as some players claim. Yeah, some might be consistent, and some players get lucky often. But they certainly don't all have a deep core roid in them.

Maybe the asteroid rings are not that busy at all, but many commanders seem to be pretty busy in the rings...

I noticed this the other day - after detonating a Deep Core Asteroid in a Belt Cluster, I sold the stuff at the station and then went back to see if I could detonate it again. When I first dropped into the Cluster, there was no sign of it, detonated or otherwise - but after a while (maybe 30 seconds or so?) it appeared, intact, and then after a fraction of a second it 'remembered' that I had already blown it up, and it transformed into its destroyed state, complete with dust cloud.

It seems that there is indeed some sort of lag bug - although I have found that by the time you have dealt with the pirate, any Deep Core Asteroids in the cluster will have spawned, so it's not too much of an inconvenience for me, at least. Also, since the Deep Core Asteroids do re-set after about 24 hours, once you find some you can return to them every day, to mine them again... although I haven't tried this since the latest patch, so I don't know if this is still the case. (It does seem to contradict what Will said, about Deep Core Asteroids becoming increasingly scarce as players mine them...?)

This certainly seems to be the case.

Good to know it's not just me.
The first one I found did indeed pop-in right in front of me. I was questioning myself as to what I actually saw. Thought it might have been some local rendering glitch. But I can replicate this behavior in most of the clusters.
I'm currently mining in deep space, so the pirate distraction doesn't work for me. I'm not getting any pirates out here. (not that that's a bad thing ;))
Suppose I need to make some video and log a bug... :(
