Newcomer / Intro Asteroid yield

Confusing question. Materials as per game terms means engineering mats. A high content rock produces more materials in terms of raw elements. It has no effect on what you can mine from the rock.

OK, understood. It's the high percentage I'm after for LTD's not whether the rock is low, medium or high yield which indicates engineer materials. Thanks!

Material Content is for Materials (e.g. Iron), not Commodities (e.g. LTD).
You just want High Percentage if you are mining.
Unless you are mining for raw materials ...

As for mineral content; Each asteroid will give you a number of fragments (more if you use a high-rated prospector - this is why you should use an A-rated prospector!). The mineral content determines how much each fragment will add to a refinery bin. Thus, a low-% asteroid will take as much time to mine but give you less tons of refined mineral.

Here’s what you can do. Look up the materials chart below before you go mining. Visit a raw material trader before heading out to the mining site. Trade up for those high percentage mats to make room for what you will collect. Mine as usual, and you will inevitably get lots of mats in the process.
