At what plane do you typically travel?

I've travelled 24Kly at +600 now slowly decending into Sag A*. 'If' I return home I will try at -1000 to see what treasures are down there. The +600 route has brought many Earthy's and even one with a nice ring. Only 2 mistakes (1 scooping too close and 1 faceplant into a planet) Hull at 96%.

Makes my brain hurt... I've spent too many years working with CAD and Z is always the last. Do we not follow the Cartesian coordinate system... meh.

Leaving on a jet plane. Don't know when I'll be back again...

And I'm usually Z -1250
Galactic coordinates are clearly X,Z,Y
X being left-right
Z being up-down
Y being coreward-rimward

It's why I give out coordinates alongside system names in the same format Galaxy Map gives them.

Z is usually the last, but Z is also usually the axis that comes out of the page, as it were. Looking at the Milky Way 'the page' obviously should be the galactic plane, not some surface that goes through Sol and is perpendicular to the plane. Which is what the in game coordinates imply...

I'm working a grid, as well as the map will allow, of outside arm to inside. mostly on the plane, as right above is a very deep red field, which I have no interest in.

I'm at my first trip so I have no real goal then to try how far I can come before my ship will be at hull 70% then going back, just travel and choose a system when I like the name, now 10Kly from Sol
