Nothing will.

All this new C&P did is to separate ganking ships from legit pvp ships, which will mean that we are going to have ships DEDICATED TO MURDER instead of whats right now which is general PvP outfitted ships.

A hot ship cannot use the services of a station which means it has to have a scoop and A rated fsd which is not min maxed for pvp.
Legit pvp cant happen with this ship untill bounties are paid, but guess what, this ship will still be able to gank anything that moves.

Congrats fdev, you created a bigger monster instead of killing it.

Cant wait for 3.0

Burn.

You can use Anarchy services, right?

Just remember to have a decent FSD so you don't get stuck in a system during a lockdown. As you do.

So..the final nail in the coffin for Open? We can finally close it down? LOL!

How does a ship dedicated to murder differ from a general PvP ship. From what I see, PvP ships are usually fully optimized for murder.

And there are still anarchy systems.

ATR might need some tweaking, this is why we have betas of course. From what i'm seeing, once your notereity is up, they need to be quicker in arriving. In high sec at the moment i've had the police arrive within seconds of me opening fire on a ship, but they are slow to get invovled (scanning etc).

I guess it just needs to be made that for those with high noteriety that the ATR arrive and start pounding on you the instant you open fire.

Also, who are you adressing this to? This is the PvP subforum. You telling the PvPers that ATR won't save them from.... who?

I would put it in DD but it would end up here anyway.

Regarding PvP ship vs gank ship: a pvp ship in 3.0 cannot commit crimes because it will be locked out of the star system services. A 2D fsd wont get you far.

If you came to gank you will now equip a fuel scoop, A rated fsd etc, you are not min maxed for pvp any longer. You are now min maxed for committing crimes. Congrats fdev.

A ganker needs 2 ships, one clean for pvp and another one hot that runs away from anything non gankable to avoid an expensive rebuy while killing the sheep.

ATR should have zero impact on consensual PvP with report crimes off, as nothing is reported so no cops show.

If anything, ATR is gonna kill the murder missions and make crime more of a nuisance than honestly help anything.

ATR can't stop murder, wont' stop a dedicated player to the task, and at best is annoying for everyone that can't adapt.

Should be able to use the services of anywhere your ship isn't wanted.

I suggested in another thread that the docking restrictions be applied to all stations (including anarchies). As an addition to the beta stuff I think it would be an effective deterrent, eventually.

Why would most anarchies care?

Crime is in the eye of the beholder and any system where everyone see all actions from the same perspective is automatically crap in a game like this because it's so far from believable.

How does a ship dedicated to murder differ from a general PvP ship. From what I see, PvP ships are usually fully optimized for murder.

A ship built purely for combat often has the the smallest FSD and fuel tank it can get away with and completely omits non-combat extras, often including things like interdictors. I wouldn't use a 2D FSD on most of them like some people would, but a shield focused setup would have the lightest FSD that would enable any high-wake.

A dedicated hunter of prey, rather than fighter of duels or battles, is going to look very different from a pure combat vessel because the targets and the logistics are different. These vessels will need to be as self sufficient as possible, especially if there aren't convenient ports of call near by. They will be optimized for quickly destroying weaker vessels, rather than overcoming combat vessels in protracted engagements.

My vessel of choice for illegal activities would probably look like a cross between one of my combat-explorers and my commerce raider. It would only need to dock to repair wear & tear and the powerplant, wouldn't last long against a pilot of similar ability in a pure combat vessel, but would be fast and tough enough to take a few hits from ATR before it fled.

I guess it just needs to be made that for those with high noteriety that the ATR arrive and start pounding on you the instant you open fire.

ATR doesn't need omniscience or inhuman response times, they need persistence.

ATR needs to be able to track and trail offenders, proactively interdict/harass them, and pursue them across many systems, if need be.

Notoriety and Interstellar bounties. Just because you don't believe in centralised government doesn't mean you are happy to be a criminal safe haven (although you might be). Anarchies often have superpower related factions too, no law means no one to stop the ATR going there either.

It could be retconned if the motivation was there. Makes more sense than multi-crew telepresence ;)

Capes get ‘stuck in things’. Preventing you from being #infrontofthings

Flimley.

Anyone who makes a PvP ship without a big enough FSD to high wake is leaving themselves open to being killed. You can't just look to offense when PvPing no matter how good you are. You need defense.

I remember watching a SDC video where one of the guys had nerfed their fuel tank so low that fuel use in the battle left them without enough fuel to jump. I think IIRC they could have selected a nearer system but they panicked and died. So never nerf yourself that much you leave yourself open to a ganking when you are ganking.

Highwaking (or even low waking) from a 1 v 1 is poor and is looked down at. Most pvpiers put 2D fsd which gives you extra speed and agility.

hi,

"If you came to gank you will now equip a fuel scoop, A rated fsd etc, you are not min maxed for pvp any longer. You are now min maxed for committing crimes. Congrats fdev."

Can I reverse engineer this? Most "ordinary" players in open are doing missions, trading etc and most carry A rated scoops, FSD's and the like (except those maybe doing extreme levels of cargo capacity). So what we could be looking at is a levelling of the playing field when gank vs "ordinary" player may result in fights between more evenly matched ship load outs?
