Greetings Cmdrs.

I don't wanna here no more whining about griefing on these forums if you are wearing the tag of space Hitler(fed). :)

Your are what you reap and if you wanna be part of the grieving which is hudson on a whole then you should know why you are now kill on site for the other half of the bubble now as well.

Abuse of broken powerplay mechanics on massive scale and attacking your friendly neutral neighbor because you want some juicy mahon systems.

This whole community is broken to me now. You have destroyed 1000's of hours of player's tireless work to create something of their own. I myself have turned 63 systems to corporate in the alliance to better our home. We have done nothing to you feds and you have taken griefing to a whole new global level.

When ALD is crowned the new 'Mahon' and the empire rises to a new age of power, you will remember why we had a peace treaty in the first place.

Well Sword, I have 2 items:

1. That sucks for you guys. That was the most brutal Cycle I've ever seen, surely the most brutal in the history of Power Play. In that regard, I truly do feel for you guys. Sincerely.

2. I personally feel that the Alliance has ridden those Peace Treaties for far too long. Mind you, my small Power had nothing to do with it, but it has always seemed a bit strange that the Alliance has been allowed to stay un-contested this long. I don't mean that no one messes with you, I know they do. Most Powers have a large contingent of pledges who don't bother with the Weekly Strats, the Grinders if you will. We all know that.
But really, why should the Alliance never have to fight a real war against those who should have been opponents the entire time? They should have never had unconditional peace for that long, looking down their noses at those of us constantly fighting for life.

Again, I sincerely feel for you guys. But choosing a side can often mean that you make enemies out of all the sides you chose against. And it finally happened. Dirty and under-handed, but that's the Federation for you.

You guys have an extremely strong group, and fantastic leadership. You've got your nose bloodied, but you'll come back just as strong, and sooner rather than later.

that's not true now, you would be absolutely raging if you got the kind of undermining we have every week. not to mention the usual 3 or 4 snipes, we still have more undermining against us when you are all war'd up. :)

But seriously, a war is fought between 2 parties, not 1 attacking an unaware friendly.

not to mention the almost 2 billion in credits in 5th column on our preps. Way to abuse a broken mechanic hudson, wondered why i was seeing odd mahon pledges flying around.

Bring it, boy-o :)

Just going off what you said in OP. I'd hate to see how you react when something annoys you IRL, lol.

Empire here, whenever one of us begins to climb the PP ranks our power gets slapped down near to the bottom almost instantly. We've been fighting tooth and nail for survival for at least as long as I've played the game. While the Alliance has sat fat and happy at the top of the rankings for ages. It's about time some things got shaken up. The Alliance has been getting complacent. Now we'll see if they have what it takes to survive some adversity instead of using peace treaties to grow fat and act all smug to everyone else.

Still, Empire tends to hate the Feds more. Maybe a Imperial/Alliance uh, alliance might be worked out so we can obliterate the dirty Feds :p

I mean really, Feds weren't too smart. Now they got two major factions P.O.'d at them. One with tons of experience, the other with fat bank accounts. Sounds like the Empire and Alliance is a dream team to me.

So the OP considers Playing the Powerplay Mechanic to change the BGS to be griefing??

How exactly is this griefing? Anyone entering Powerplay surely should understand that their work can and probably will be undone at somepoint by an opposing power

Well, so should anyone going into open (even noobies) but that's just one of those double standards we have I guess.

True I agree to this statement reference double standards but a New Player isn't necessarily expecting to be blown out of space while cruising around the Starter System on the first Day (I certainly wasn't but it happened) but a member of a Power (especially one outside of Hudson - as a fair number pledge hudson as that's the power they start in) would be more aware that there's another 9 powers that are actively trying to expand their influence.

Ideally Open Play should come with a Disclaimer that warns you that your entering a PVP environment when you log in

I sure wasn't.

Mahon got too close to Fed territory(They have been expanding in Fed systems for 20 WEEKS! and continued to expand well PAST the agreed area in space)... and was way too comfortable at the top. It was time to put them in their place.

The Feds used the in game mechanics to perform a massive snip on an unsuspecting and complacent opponent. This is a tactic that's been used many time IRL by countries all over the world, most notably the Molotov-Ribbentrop pact of '39, which was unceremoniously thrown out the window by Germany's subsequent invasion of Russia in '41.
Was it sneaky, yes. Was it unprecedented, yes. What is wasn't was an attack on individual players hard work. Every person engaged in PP puts countless hours into what is often fruitless endeavors. I'm pledged to Patreus, I know this well, fighting our own little war at the bottom of the bubble (and standings) against both Fed powers and Kumo. Seems to me the biggest mistake Mahon made was trusting anything the Feds told them. Now you need to pick yourselves back up and fight back with everything you've got (except the microwave lasers, that prolly won't work)

And with that quote, The Alliance gained a freedom fighter http://cdn-frm-xbox.wargaming.net/4.5/style_emoticons/wotx/Smile-izmena.gif
Excellent! The enemy of my enemy and all...

Also, that quote needs the context that Peace in-game is simply not possible to maintain indefinitely. Territories and therefor entire economies are encroached upon and defended daily. Mahon kept pushing and bullying because he figured no one would fight back, because of peace treaties. And bragged about it, no less. Finally the Feds back-handed him.
Real world? I'm all for One United Planet and Peace. I also hate the concept of slavery in the real world.

What we truly need is the Alien Menace, so we can all band together on the same team. But that's not peace either.
