Nah, the Feds responded to about 20 weeks of Alliance aggression, and undid almost all of it in a few days. This upset the OP who proceeded to Godwin himself into losing the internet.

Honestly? I'm independent, but this has been something I've expected for quite a while. Mahon has been on top for too long; in a galaxy of conflict peace will end.

. While the Alliance has sat fat and happy

We haven't been sitting fat and happy. Alliance commanders worked long and hard to get where we did and stay there. We will continue to do so. Wont be so quick to help out federation factions that are threatened by the Empire in the future though. (Yes we did do that).

Good to know. I've usually let alliance commanders in Empire systems slide in the past, but this admission sees to it that it doesn't continue. I've never undermined an alliance system and most Imperial folks tend to go for SpaceUSA so it's a bit below the belt to take us on covertly for the Federation.

Who incidentally are absolutely destroying you guys for your good service. ;)

Welcome to powerplay.

Your post originally stated you didn't want to hear any grieving. Your subsequent posts are pointing the finger at everyone else for grieving when there really is only one person doing so - The person who created a post griefing about something that happened in a video game.

Calling an in game power "Hitler" is basically calling anyone who pledges Federation,     's. Not only is that not funny, it is insulting. Stop the grief, dude, and take a break from the game until you can tell the difference between real and imaginary.

KOS means you have to play in Open. If you play in open just to go and shoot at people, but do your fortifications in solo, well... that's just bad manners.

A certain Federation faction has a bit of a reputation for doing virtually this. No names mentioned, but it's one of the seasons.

A reputation pushed solely by Empire players who don't spend any time in Rhea. The ones who do know we fortify in Open. (I am sad to say that if you come to Rhea on Xbox you probably won't see any Winters players, because I rarely do :()

Possibly. I've seen two Winters players during my powerplay time and that was when Winters was pushing expansions hard. Two players the whole week, and you guys pulled it quite convincingly in the end

Oh, do come play sugar. In any Winters control system. Or any system we are sniping.

I guarantee FLC are there in open. Trouble is we are seeing not a single Cmdr. Not one. Oh, well I tell a lie. There was a Sirius Cmdr. He just continued on with what he was doing.

I've been playing in your recent expansions including the one in the HYADES Sector. To date, I've seen two Winters commanders. Having interdicted them, both hi-waked out of town pretty fast. And I only powerplay in open. If there's a goal I need to take part in, I'll be around.

Boy. Talk about your mixed metaphors! Did you mean to say 'You are what you eat' or ' you reap what you sow'?

Also the fascist references in two posts were spurious comments.

I assume the second comment you refer to was mine, for which I apologize if it came across as calling another power 'Hitler', I was intending it as a comparison of strategies in a purely historical way. I was attempting to make the point that alliances are made, and broken often, in real life and in game, and that being unprepared for this is not the fault of the aggressor, but of the victim, as any student of history should be aware.
Again, apologis for causing offense.

we always play in open.
You complaint is an insinuation that xbox players are actually fortifying which is not the case. so have fun chasing ghosts.

as a final statement on the matter, i will refrain from      like statements, but i'm sorry to say, i could come up with 100's of similar statements from no faction across the board. If you feds really cared about public sentiment, you should realize that this is what runs your power.

not surprised to see them even comparing themselves to hitler to the first thread. Xbox now rules the reddit in hudson's house. And it's no surprise that most of those players on there are well known griefers around community goals and such.

to skunk:
What the feds did is like the US having a peaceful trade talk with canada that wasn't completely skewed in their favor. so they decided to just take it, nuked every major canadian city, then when confronted by the international community, they used the war of 1812 as there reasons. "they burned the white house 100 years ago.", "um, that was the British?", "same thing!" That operation happened before xbox was even a thing on ED in cycle 9. And if that's the way you are interpreting it, then you might as well go throw some fed pants on skunk. the political climate has completely changed since then. And it was my understanding that the empire was the board's big aggressor back then, which i'm pretty sure is where the peace treaty between the alliance and federation came from.

I've gotta say that as the Empire is usually the target for everything Federation, this cycle certainly came as a surprise. It was most impressive, as much as I hate saying it. They got Mahon real good with those merit bombs.

See this is the big fallacy that you all like to believe. As much as you all like to seem that the alliance is one big nothing. There are fed player groups that we have been fighting for months and months. We get more undermining than everyone of you guys almost every cycle, and guess what, that undermining is done by players. We have nothing but friendly relations with empire players, and i've only seen one undermining us once. But i have a list that is well over 100, of hudson and winters players that treat us like their personal toilet. This is pretty much the main reason why my player group is completely combat oriented since most have been griefed at one point or another in our own systems.

that's not true now, you would be absolutely raging if you got the kind of undermining we have every week. not to mention the usual 3 or 4 snipes, we still have more undermining against us when you are all war'd up. :)

But seriously, a war is fought between 2 parties, not 1 attacking an unaware friendly.

not to mention the almost 2 billion in credits in 5th column on our preps. Way to abuse a broken mechanic hudson, wondered why i was seeing odd mahon pledges flying around.

Aisling supporter here, come back when you've had basically every single control system undermined in one cycle. Till then you know nothing of being targeted. Alliance has had it pretty easy till now.

Imperial systems get undermined pretty consistently from INSIDE our own factions, notably coming to a head a few weeks back with ' colllusion piracy'. Not only that, we've then got grandad Trumpton hitting unprofitable systems to mess with our powerplay economy, but since their economy can take a loss system to screw with us there isn't much we can do about it. Now divide the Empire by four factions from a heavily Hudson -orientated player pool.

Top it off with admissions from alliance commanders about covert actions against the Empire for the federations benefit, we get to be annoyed about the state of powerplay in its current form. The Empires powerplay is ultimately futile; we don't have Mahons economy or Hudsons player-base to compete with. Every play we make is undermined from both inside our own factions and out.

Edit: Spot on, Tempest. We're on the same page here.

I hate to say it, and you know this is true, one of the most broken powerplay issues i have is the "faction special weapon/module" I'd doubt you'd be saying it was targeted if you didn't have every tom and harry coming to your camp for prismatics. They really need to give those in other ways.
