Thanks to the arrival of Odyssey, we have even more interaction between players. However, Elite: Dangerous lacks an essential element that is almost inherent to the MMORPG style of play: the auction house.
For those unfamiliar with the concept of the Auction House, it is a place or interface that allows players to sell different items and materials to other players.

, the interest of an auction house is very important. It would allow players to sell goods, ores, materials, in short, all the objects that can be collected in game. But that's not all! You could buy personal weapons and combinations already rank 5 or even already modded. Modules already engineered or even fully equipped ships. The possibilities are really huge.
It will bring a new economy. A new reason to farm. Players with superfluous materials or goods or data will be able to sell them to those who need them for a profit. The profession of scavenger will then have its full meaning. Even farming credits will make more sense since we could spend them at the auction house.
From the point of view of the community, interactions between players, it would be an obvious asset, reinforcing the community aspect of the game. We could even imagine a setting where you could sell an item only with your squadron. It will be great, right?
Imagine, you love scavenging bases in Odyssey and stealing everything there. Problem: you have no more slot to continue. So you go to a station and sell the superfluous and what is useless for you to the merchant. But it's a shame, it's a waste. All these lost materials that will not benefit anyone. And this is where the auction house would take all its interest. You could sell all these materials to players, indicating the price you want or via a predefined price in the game.
